    Hey there!

I love to mow lawns...I know I"m a nut! I'm guessing it's not safe for me to do this, but wanted to check in here before I contact my OB, that I'm not fond of.

It's a regular push mower, and there is tons and tons of lawn...about 8acres...Is it safe to do any amount?

My MIL is really riding me about "when I was younger, I worked 300 hrs a week, throwing 1,000 lb boulders, while barefoot stepping on glass, carring 16 babies..." blah blah blah...

I live with her right now, so it can wear thin.

I don't really invest a whole lot what she says, so I just wanted to make sure I was doing what was right, so I felt good about it....my first responsibility are these babes!

sorry for the mini-rant, it got away from me! haha

    thanks for your help!!

I'm refusing to mow  Just needing dh to get home so he can keep up with the yard. There is a neighbor who comes and mows the front for me, but the back...umm yeah (it's pretty much just weeds and dirt--thanks to dogs)

At 9w, I was too sick to do anything like that! That's great that you are feeling that well! I'd check with my doc to be on the safe side.

 Sounds like something my MIL would say. ;)

Rebecca, that sounds like ALOT of work. I would call your OB to make sure. If it were a little lawn, I don't think it would be a problem but 8 ACRES! If you do it, don't forget to drink alot of water!! :)

8 acres with a push mower?!?!? You are a champ in my book, preggo ro not! At 20 weeks, we had a meeting with a pre-term labor prevention nurse. She told me that being on my feet for voer 30 minutes is too long, this includes things like grocery shopping or fun shopping and not to mop or vacuum. Apparently the movement of mopping uses some muscles and stresses some places that tend to throw you into early labor. DH asked her if our 20 minute walks we do at night were still okay, and she said it would actually be better for me to sit and rest on the couch for those 20 minutes. I didn't put up too much of a fight:) But it does get boring to watch TV and watch your house get messy!!!
IMO, I would refrain from doing any kind of strenuous labor, but I would say to ask your OB, they will have the knowledge to give you and accurate answer.
Congrats and Good Luck on your babes!

Honestly, I wouldn't do that much mowing. That's a lot!

[SIZE=10pt]WOW ~ I wouldn't have the energy to mow 8 acres now, little lone when I was pregnant.

I probably wouldn't mow it all at one time. Maybe small sections at a time with LOTS of water in between. I would recommend calling your OB just to be on the safe side though (sorry you don't care for him/her)

Taking care of those lil ones is the number one priority ~ I would hope that MIL would agree with you

    April :)

I'm still claiming it's not safe, my youngest is almost 16 months old :D . I would think that 8 acres is a lot and if it is hot then a definite no-no. I would just think that it would be a lot of strain on you and your babies.
