I was pregnant with my DD ten years ago so I often feel like I don't know what to expect with being pregnant. We found out last Wednesday that we are definitely having twins, per the ultrasound, and even though I see it, it doesn't seem real. I notice others saying that they started popping out really quick and looked pregnant, but for being 10 weeks and carrying twins I dont notice any difference. When did you really start to notice?

Probably around 20 weeks. It's obvious now!

Mentally, it still hasn't sunk in that there will be two. . .

I am with you all on the "it doesn't seem real" bit. I'm still in shock and, just a few weeks ago, started to really warm up to the idea.
I don't think I really started to show until somewhere between 16 and 18 weeks. (I've been extra heavy for a few years now...)

    hi terrag,

i'm 15 weeks and have just started catching sight of myself in mirrors and windows and thinking omg, i'm pregnant! up until mid last week i'd have a pretty flat stomach in the morning that would get bigger as the day went on but then it just popped, and i could really feel a definite beachball shape in there that does not come and go! i'm about 5'4, small build. congrats on your twin pregnancy, it's fun to be having two huh?

Hi Terra, welcome to Twinstuff. :sign0016: Congrats on your twins.

I didn't notice anything different with my twin pregnancy than my singleton pregnancy. I did start to show earlier with the twins though, I was in full maternity clothes by 12 weeks, other than that, I never would have even known I was pregnant.

I would encourage you to join our Big Sister Program. You will be matched up with another Mom with older twins and she will support you throughout your pregnancy and beyond. Click on the link in my signature for more information. It's a great program. B)

The night before I went in to get a 20-week ultrasound, speculating if it could be twins (because I'd had an awful first trimester), my husband said, "No WAY could it be twins, you aren't nearly big enough."

Ha. I am now, though. ;) But I didn't start to show even as soon as I would have expected for it being my third pregnancy. So you never know.

I found out at 13 weeks and there was no denying those ultrasound photos definately had TWO babies! But I know I thought something was up prior to that; I was much bigger already than I had been with DD1. But I didn't have any other factors (I had no morning sickness for example, no family history of twins) so I had no reason to suspect.
Congratulations again and eventually it will sink in! There are days even now when I just can't believe I had twins!
