Is it really over?

My twins are 2.5. DS sleeps just fine usually, but not always. DD fights it like crazy and ends up crying and whining the whole time. She is obviously exhausted and needs a nap but will not sleep. I am getting very frustrated. It is the only time I have to get stuff done because the rest of the time I am chasing them out of stuff they are not supposed to be in or on. Is it normal for this to be the end of naptime or is she just going through a phase? TIA

Does she eventually settle and have at least some quiet time?? There are days now where my girls won't nap but I still put them in their beds and leave them for about an hour to have quiet time. 5 out of 7 days/week they usually fall asleep and the other two days I let them get out after that hour and we just have an early bedtime that night which is kinda nice as well. I really hope mine keep napping till they are 3 but that might be pushing it....

It's happened to me... usually just a phase, or I had to change the time of their nap.

It was around that time that we began separating our girls for naps. Worked really well, but I had to lay down with the one that was in our room. Now that they nap together (that is when they nap which is not often) I have to lay with them in their room. It's not that big of a deal for me because it takes them all of 20 minutes to fall asleep. I usually lay in between their beds and read my book while they are going to sleep. It's a good way to get some reading time in for me, and they love having me in there. Once they fall asleep, I leave and do what I need to do. I'm sure it's not ideal, but when they need to sleep I'm willing to do whatever.

During naptimes she will not end up settling down, there may be a few periods of silence but they are short lived. I am always hopeful that she will but it usually will not happen. I was really hoping she would nap until 3 also. As it is now she will end up going to bed around regular time and sleep a little bit later. Her brother will still get up earlier if she lets him nap .

I would love to be able to separate them. We do not have a spot for the other to sleep. I may have to try laying in there for a little bit. Thank you for the idea.
