that my dd is teething? She had been so fussy the past few days. She chews on her fists constantly and has started drooling. I ran my finger across her gums and felt a little knot on one side of her mouth. I don't remember when older ds started teething. But I don't think it was at 3 months. Am I crazy or is she already teething?

Something a nurse friend told me to do that I thought was smart was to run/lightly tap a small metal spoon over their gums. With the curved side toward where you think teeth might be coming in. If they are just below the surface you may hear a little "clink" when the spoon hits the gum over the tooth. We have done it a few times and it works.

You could even use a fancy baby spoon or a handle of a normal sized adult spoon?

Good luck. Sounds like you may have some little chompers coming in early.

Mine were around 8 months, but a friend's younger brother was only a couple of weeks old when his first tooth broke through!

My pedi said it was not considered teething to just be drooling and chewing on hands etc......it's just part of their "oral" fixation. If you see "tapioca" like blisters on the gums, THEN it's teething!!

It certainly could be, but mine started doing that other the summer and didn't get their first teeth until Octoberish, so don't count on it!
