Hello, This is a post with answers from my specialist about previous concerns that I had about 1 of my always being active onthe ultrasound and the other was always sleep. For those who are not familiar with what I am talking about go to the 1st post that I wrote it is The topic title is the same minus the brackets. SO HERE ARE THE ANSWERS: I called Dr. Onyeije (the Perinatal Specialist ) and I informed him of my concerns, and we had what was like a conference call....he pulled up my ultrasounds from Thursday so as I voiced my concerns he can take a closer look at my the activity of my pictures to answer. I told him my QUESTION # 1 is... Is it normal for Baby B to not be as active as A? DR. ANSWER: Yes it is normal for the activity of the babies to differ-that is a common thing that he sees.( In other words that does not nessasarily indicate that there is a problem the with baby that is not as active as the other.) QUESTION #2...Is it normal for the baby to be laying on his face and stomach instead of his back with face up? DR. ANSWER: Mrs.Tannor I can tell you now that it is very much common for the baby to lye in many different positions- you will see them in many positions-also that is a indicater that there is movement from that baby. HE GOES ON TO SAY: At 18 wks. of pregnancy, the position of the babies are not of a concern, we are concerned with the positions of the babies when it is time for you to deliver. As for now... they will be in many positions. QUESTION #3... I was told that I should do a kick count to monitor the babies movement. DR. ANSWER: Mrs. Tannor it will not be until your 3rd trimester that we will want you to start doing kick counts. That is 26 wks. Right now kick counts will absolutely serve no purpose...you may not really feel movement until around maybe 22 wks. QUESTION #4...How do the babies look especially my concern Baby B? DR.ANSWER: Mrs. Tannor what I am looking at right now is an absolute perfectly normal ultrasound...Both of the babies are at their proper measurements & weight, both are getting the proper blood flow & oxygen from the placentas.... QUESTION #5...Could you please tell me what exactly were the positions of the babies at that time so that I can determine the movements? DR> ANSWER: Sure...Baby A as well as Baby B are both laying transverse (straight across my stomach). MY RESPONSE: Thank you so much Dr. Onyeije, you have answered my concerns. HIS RESPONSE: That's what we are here for, if you ever have any questions or concerns always feel free to call.
But I would like to say that having that scare helped me because I will do my research before I get to my appointments so that I can ask any & evry question to stay on top of things..because I saw where there were some ladies he feels that their dr. missed some things. Thanks to everyone & God Bless. Oh... by the way.. there is a book called Supernatural Childbirth by author Jackie Mizie that I will be picking up today from Barnes and Noble that I think will be very helpful to calm us of some of the anxieties that we face. :grouphug:

Good report. That's awesome that your Dr. took time to answer your questions through a conference call. I own that book. It's very encouraging, especially if you believe in the supernatural work of God in your life. I ended up having to have a c-section, but their basic concept is Healthy baby, healthy mother...whatever it takes to achieve that.

I was in a rush this morning to get to my class...and I forgot to add that when I asked him How did the babies look?(question #4 )...He told me that they checked the brain, heart, stomach, spine, (basically all of the organs) and what they look for are holes and any abnormalities...and there were none.
Also what I left out about that book that I was picking up from Barnes & Noble titled Supernatural Childbirth by Jackie Mize, which I now have in my hands... this is a book talking about how to deal with fears during pregnancy & delivery. The book also have testimonies of women who suffered the loss of a child as well as some whom suffered from miscarriages and how they dealt with and overcame the experience.Jackie Mize, the author, was told that she would never be able to have children-but she now has 4 healthy kids. Fortunately I've never experienced these challenges- My purpose for the book is to help me deal with the fears and anxieties of pregnancy & delivery. Thanks to all of the responses during my.....what seemed like....anxiety attack. :D God Bless!
