My boys are almost a month old and I am gradually still moving towards exlusively breastfeeding - we have had many bumps in the road with yeast infections in the breast, mastitis, cracked and bleeding nipples, and latching issues. We have finally made it to where we are comfortably breast feeding, but i am still doing bottles with EBM at night and during the day at times. They are given 2 oz. in their bottles - do you think that is enough? We tried to increase it to 2 1/2 and Jeremiah spit up a lot after that feeding, so I am hesistant.

They seem to go fine during the day and night - they normally always wake up 45 minutes before a feeding rooting - that is whether or not it is the 3 hr feeding or 4 hr (they go 3 hr in the day and 4 hr at night). (IE: if it is 3hr feedings they wake up at 2 hr and 15 min if it is 4hr feeding they wake up 3 hr15min)

How much did yours take at one month?

i was feeding mine every 2 hours 2 ozs. if yours is taking 2 1/2 but spitting up try stopping half way and burping him then give him more. you will know when they are hungry. if they want a bottle after 2 1/2 hours then give them one. they are young yet is the way i see it. i didn.t make mine wait i fed them when hungry and they are very healthy and happy babies. gl

I think that sounds fine! I agree with the pp about sitting up and burping. But if your babies aren't acting hungry and they are growing and having dirty diapers, they are fine!

I bf and gave bottles of ebm and my boys only drank about 2oz per feeding until they were almost 2 months. If they are spitting up a lot afterwards it was probably a little too much. I would increase the amount when I noticed that they would drain the bottle with no problem.
