Hello everyone. My name is Carlee and DH and I found out at our 12 week appt that we are expecting twins. I am now 21 weeks, and my doctor is going to schedule my c-section for 38 weeks (around November 7th). :) I'm really glad I found this forum, I've been reading for awhile, and there is so much information. :) I have a 5 1/2 year old son who will be 6 on November 12th and is super excited about his twin brothers. :)

Hi Beth, where in Texas are you? We're in San Antonio.

Actually, they're both in separate sacs with separate placentas, so there's that 1/3 chance that they are idential, otherwise they're fraternal. :)

Houston huh? I try to stay away from Houston. The traffic is horrible! :) Not to say SA is any better. I just try not to drive much at all. :)
Wow! Your second set of twins. I'm giving you props! lol

Hi all!
My name is Becky, and I'm 3 months along with mono/di twins. (we don't know the sex yet)

I'm originally from Illinois but moved to England last year when I got married to my husband, Steffen. (It's quite a gooshy love story I should tell sometime! )
I have one son, Owen who is 8 from my previous marriage and a stepson, George, who is also 8 (weird, huh? lol) from Steffens previous relationship.

So, here's me, with not the greatest gyno history, in a new country, with two other kids and knocked up with VERY MUCH wanted twins. I'm a bit overwhelmed though! (The whole TTTS thing is scaring the living poop out of me!) And, I mean, I know I have two boobs, but BREASTFEEDING...Come *ON*?!?!?!? Double diapers, double potty training....I'm terrified! LOL!

Mostly I fret about the TTTS issue, but am trying to calm down! Love to hear from any of you who have had mono/di twins and everything came out all right! (Actually, would love to hear from anyone at all! LOL!)

Welcome to the board Becky! :) I totally hear you on the breastfeeding thing. I'm choosing not to breastfeed my boys.

You're so lucky to be in England. I want to go there soooooo bad. :) Are you guys wanting to find out the sex of your twins? My DH did not want to but I talked him into it because there was no way I was getting everything green and yellow. :) He's glad now that we did. Good luck and welcome. I'm new here as well. :)

Welcome ladies!!!

Becky - I'm Becky, too! :) I had mono/di twin boys...and they're now happy, healthy 5 month olds. :) They were born at 35w4d via planned C-section b/c of my steadily creeping BP. Both were 5lbs7oz, had no NICU time, and came home with us 3 days after they were born. They've been perfectly healthy (aside from one little ear infection) so far. My biggest piece of advice - stay away from google! Use TS as your reference, as well as your OB. Googling info WILL scare the living bejeebees out of you...all completely unnecessarily! Oh, and I am successfully breastfeeding my boys, so it IS possible. ;) On a side note, I LOVE England. I spent 3 months studying over there when I was in college, and I desperately want to go back. Feel free to PM me with any other questions you may have.

HTH!

Hi Chavira, and Becky! (Are you a Rebecca or a "Becky-NOT-Rebecca" like me? Lol...been reciting that one since Kindergarten!)

Thanks for the welcome guys, and Becky it's so good to hear of a set of Mono/Di babies that had no problems! Yay! the people from NHS keep telling me it only happens in 15% of Mono/Di pregnancies, but dang, that seems like a huge percentage to me!

Yes, Chavira, we are definately going to find out the sex. Even if we *didn't* want to (which we do) I think Steffen's parents would lose their mind with betting pools. Lol!

I'm going to give breastfeeding the old college try-If I can't cope, I can't cope, but who knows? It may go so smoothly it's ridiculous. :D

The whole TTTS worries me more, I think, because of not being "at home" with NHS yet. They've been dead good to us but I have that bias about American healthcare and I'd be afraid that if something did happen, the babies would be better off having been in America. (I know, I'm biased for no reason. But I've been stupidly homesick lately. :(

I do like England-I'm waaaaay up on the borders in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, only about 100 miles from Scotland ("Why-eye, the land of Geordies and Mackams, man!").

I miss good pizza, Jell-O pistachio pudding, cool whip, and grain fed beef. Oh, and Mt. Dew even though I couldn't drink it ight now anyhow. Lol!

I'm sure you'll be hearing ALOT from me, and I can't wait to get to know you all better!

Tirrah, as they say over here!

Oh, and Becky, my dh is from Wales but went to college in Newcastle. We go there once or twice a year. I have a friend there who is due in August with a singleton.

The accents are sure interesting! So is the whole thing between Geordies and Mackams!

Hi everyone and thanks for the welcomes. :)

Becky--the only reason I'm not breastfeeding the twins is because 1) I tried to breastfeed DS and he would have nothing of it, so I don't want to go through all of that misery again, and 2) and do not want to be stuck being the only one to have to provide food for my twins ( I know about pumping, but don't even want to go there with my last stories). :)
