Hi - now that I've 'graduated' to the first year board, I thought I'd introduce myself. I mostly lurked on the expecting forum, because I had a very easy and uncomplicated pregnancy, so I didn't post much.

My twins were born a month ago, at 37 weeks 1 day. We went for a scheduled c-section because baby A was breech. We had not found out the genders ahead of time, and were thrilled to deliver a boy (baby A - Daniel) and a girl (baby b - Callie). The delivery went very smooth - although I would not recommend a C-section - delivery may be easy, but the recovery was rough! Our boy spent a little time in the NICU just for monitoring as he had a little breathing trouble, but nothing serious, and they both roomed with us most of the time.

I am breastfeeding both, it hasn't been easy but we're getting the hang of it. I'm also pumping a lot. I'm trying to breastfeed during the day and give bottles of breastmilk at night so DH and I can share the nightime feedings, it makes it a lot easier. And we are also cloth diapering, which I think it going just fine, although family and friends love to make comments about it. But really I don't think it's any harder and we've had just as many leaks with disposable diapers as cloth.

Taking care of two babies doesn't seem all that hard - I think we are blessed with very easy, non fussy babies - what's hard is the lack of sleep. Everything is easier in the morning when we have had some sleep, it all seems harder at the end of the day when we're tired. My mom has been here helping, but she leave in the morning and then we are on our own - so ask me next week whether I still think it's not very hard. ;)

Birth story and photos are posted on our blog (link below in my sig).

Congrats on the birth of your twins! WHat a lovely surprise, a girl AND a boy. And good for you for BFing..it's difficult, but incredibly satisfying. Hooray for having someone to share nightime feedings! Glad you had such an easy and uncomplicated pregnancy. I found this board to be a lifesaver.
And - good for you for cloth diapering; i keep trying to get around to it but still haven't (after 7 months). FyI, if you have any Bfing issues, definitely visit the BF board; i got incredible support there.

HOORAY for non=fussy babies! I hope it stays that way. Sorry to say that you will likely be tired for a while but - believe it or not, you sort of get used to it.

Welcome and congrats! You are doing a great job. I had a very similar experience (can't believe it was almost 10 months ago!) - uncomplicated pregnancy, C at 38 weeks, BF both without probs at the beginning, non-fussing sleeping babies.
The sleep-deprivation will most likely get worse. Hang in there for the first 6-8 weeks. After that, it gets easier by degrees. Sounds like you have a great attitude, though! Sleep as much as you can, and continue to eat well, or you will be exhausted. Nursing two burns almost an extra 1000 calories a day, I believe.
Enjoy your little ones! They grow so fast!
