hi!!! i just wanted to introduce myself. my name is tenille & i've been a member on here for a little while, but just started posting. i am a SAHM to boy/girl twins (cade & marlee) born 08/10/08 at 34w5d. my water broke at home at 2am & they were born via c-section at 8:14am & 8:15am - no time to waste as i had developed severe pre-e. i was expecting a c section because baby a was breech & baby b was transverse. marlee was 4lb 8oz & cade was 5lb 7oz. they spent 8 days in the nicu & 5 additional days at a special care nursery in a local hospital.

now that they are 8 months old, i am finding time to connect with people online!!! right now our big issue is teething....it really bothers cade more than marlee. any tips on giving them relief? also cade has a rash. i think that's from the teething too, but it is even on his checks. would that make sense?

:welcome: to the First Year. Glad you decided to post. As for teething, Motrin always worked the best for them when they were over 6 months. As for the rash we had that too. I think it was related to the drooling and them laying in it when they were sleeping. We slathered them in Aquaphor, Vaseline, or Eucerin cream. Whatever I had close by. Again, welcome.

Welcome back! I'm so glad you finally have time to visit again. We used Motrin and Tylenol for teething. Motrin is every 6 hrs and Tylenol every 4. We would overlap them so they got a good 2 hours of pain relief. Orajel worked for some instant relief, but not very long term. As for the rash, I used J&J's Soothing Face Balm for their red cheeks and chin. It worked wonders if I applied it about 3 times a day. I even still use it when they get a red nose from colds.

Welcome! I second the pp's recommendation of Tylenol, Motrin and orajel for teething. We also used teething tablets and that also helped relieve teething pain for little ones. As for the rash, petroleum jelly always worked best for us. Good luck!

Ditto, this is exactly what we do/did. Also, teething tablets.

We used Hylands but I didn't seem much improvement. It was really hard for me to get them to keep the tablets in their mouths.
