    Hi,
I posted on the Pregnancy forum a bit but haven't been on much lately due to being rather busy :) So I thought I'd re-introduce myself in this new forum. I'm a first time mom from Dublin, Ireland, where we currently live, though my husband is from Arkansas and we plan on moving back there in a year or so, once my maternity leave is up (maternity lave here is 26 weeks paid and 16 weeks unpaid). If anyone lives near Fayetteville, let me know, I'd love to make some friends before the move!

Our twins were what I call a "planned surprise"- we had been trying to conceive for 30 cycles and it was our third IUI that got me pregnant. I'd given up hope and was planning for IVF already- in fact we had a counselling appointment the day before I got the BFP. The twins were conceived on my husband's birthday, we got our BFP on Father's Day, and found out it was twins at our first u/s on our wedding anniversary. So it was no surprise to me when my peri and OBGYN booked me in for an induction on Valentine's Day. But the twins were stubborn and didn't want to come out, so I had a c-section on the 15th February instead. Wilbur Bruce (named after his dad and great-granddad) was born at 4.09pm weighing 7 pounds 4 ounces, 20 inches in length, with an Apgar of 9 at birth and 10 5 minutes later. Robyn Audrey (Robyn because I love the name and Audrey after DH's mom) was born at 4.11pm weighing 6 pounds 6 ounces, 20.5 inches in length, with an Apgar of 10. It's funny, on the u/s, the girl was always heavier- I think that is because Wilbur was head down and low in my pelvis from early on, making measurements more difficult.

I am lucky in that my mom was here for 10 days, and my husband, who is a freelancer, took some time off so he is home with me full-time, caring for the twins. But I will admit I still find it difficult, especially the lack of sleep. I breastfed exclusively for the first three weeks (had great support at the hospital, which helped), usually tandem feeding, but we have now started giving 1 to 1.5 bottles a day, so mommy can get some sleep while daddy looks after the babies, and because my little girl likes pulling at the nipple while feeding, making me sore at times.

Here are a couple of photos we had done when my mom was over, to thank her for her help:
