Introducing myself...

I should have done this a long time ago, but I was more of a lurker during my pregnancy because I guess I was just afraid.

We found out on March 20, 2008 (the day I joined here), that we were expecting twins. I was 7 1/2 weeks pregnant at the time with a due date of Nov. 1st. The pregnancy was fairly smooth until I was 26 weeks. I was put on bedrest due to preterm labor and also started on terbutaline. I remained on my couch for the next 9 1/2 weeks until I was eventually taken off of bedrest at 36 weeks. I had 5 hospital admissions during that time.

Anyway, after I was taken off of bedrest and the terb, we thought for sure "the babies" (we chose not to find out the sexes) would arrive shortly thereafter. But they decided to hang on for another 9 days and were finally born at 37w2d on Oct 13. "Baby A" now known as Adalyn Jean, was born at 7:05am and weighed 6 pounds. "Baby B" now known as Alivia Mae, was born 28 minutes later at 7:33am and weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces. They look absolutely nothing alike. Addi looks EXACTLY like me, and Livi looks EXACTLY like my husband.

Oh yes, my name is Jess. I just turned 27. My husband is Nate, he is 33. These are our first children. My mother is an identical twin and so is my husband. We know that had nothing to do with the fact that we had twins, but it's just some fun info I guess!
