    Hello,

I'll start introducing meat and chicken with veggies for my LOs. Just wonder whether I put the raw meat or chicken to boil with veggies until all cooked or boil veggies together and bake meat or chicken aside then add it to veggies only when I want to puree it?

    Any advice?

I bought the pureed veggies with meat in them (turkey and sweet potatoes, apples and chicken) for my lo's until they were 9 months. Then I just started cooking plain versions of whatever we were having (boiled or baked, ground hamburger or turkey cooked in the pan with no seasoning)and cutting it into little pieces for them or adding it to something they already like. I introduced one at a time and did so at lunch instead of dinner in case it upset their stomach. A tummy ache is much easier to deal with in the afternoon than in the middle of the night. :) They love spaghetti now and it's a great way to get their meat, I found it was just trial and error. Every baby is so different. Good luck!

I never gave them pureed meat, but when I did start giving it to them, I cooked it separately from the veggies/pasta. I did throw the veggies and pasta in the same pot to cook though.

I've never given mine pureed meat. I give them bits of chicken, which they love. They've also tried ground turkey, which they didn't like as much. They haven't tried beef or fish yet.

same here, i never did pureed meats. baked chicken is great! a rotisseri (sp?!) from the grocery is YUMMIE... don't give skin of course and pull off very small pieces for them to gum. i made my own rotisseri chicken this week... so moist and very easy for them to mash between their gums. i have also cooked chicken with veggies - baked it and cooked on the stove - and given it to them that way. you just have to try things and see how it goes. they may not like it right off, but after a day or two of the new taste and texture they may change their minds... Most often when I cook meat I heat some butter/oil and quickly cook/seal the meat (sometimes with onion) before adding the vegetables and stock/water to the same pan and cooking as long as needed. Sometimes I cook the meat competely separately or add it raw with the veg, it just depends on the recipe. To start off with (at the beginning of introducing meats) I'd always take the meat out after cooking and puree it really well then mix it back in.

I used pureed meats.. one of the few things I bought. I would put it on a spoon along with either a fruit or a veggie (half/half) and feed. My kids never had an issue with it.. it went down great/!

I'm another one who didn't give pureed meat. I just waited until they were eating finger foods & I started the meats with small bits of chicken.
