Introducing Ella and Beck

Hi Everyone

Its taken me a little while to get back on here and post but we just wanted to announce that we have 2 new beautiful babies born via c section!!

Beck Mason 6lbs 9oz 36 weeks born at 12:21 2-20-08
Ella Sydney 5lbs 6oz 36 weeks born at 12:23 2-20-08

I have yet to find out how long they are but I'm sure they have it written down somewhere!

They are great weights, but we are still having some breathing problems. We got to have them with us for about 5 hours (and thought everything was fine) and then due to some grunting, which turned out to be fluid in their lungs.

They got sent to the nursery and then to the NICU where they sent the night and are still there.

Beck is starting to stabilize more this afternoon and is getting to try a bottle out in a few minutes.

Ella is still struggling a bit. She is not handling stress of any kind real well and is having problems relaxing. She has measured about a week behind from the first ultrasound and I really wonder if she wasn't fertilized a few days later and therefore truly a week behind her brother, which would contribute to her breathing issues.

I'm a bit (okay a lot) stressed about this. I know it will most likely all work out but I hate to see the babies in the NICU.

On a brighter note my boss and great friend, who is a photographer, was able to be in the OR with us and was able to document our day for us. It was really special! Great pictures… it makes me sad sometimes that I’m the picture taker in the family… no one else ever thinks of lighting and angels… much less what’s in background!!!! You are really lucky to have beautiful babies and someone to capture that for you…

Congrats!!! It seems that most twins have a few things going on after they are born. It will all turn out just

The babies are beautiful. I am sorry they are having problems with their lungs, hopefully they will be better soon and able to go home with you. Congratulations and enjoy.
