We haven't done an update/introduction thread in here for a while so I thought now is the perfect time :D I am seeing lots of new posters to the forum and would love to know all of you more!

-Are you bfing or pumping or both?

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)?

-Do you work or are you a SAHM?

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping?

Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why brake tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names?

Are you bfing or pumping or both? Both - nursing Rhys, EBMing Owen

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)? since birth, 9wks tomorrow

-Do you work or are you a SAHM? I am nurse and I am going to try to only work 1 8hr shift a week, but we'll see.. I definitely won't go back full or part time

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping? 1 year, I would LOVE to get Owen to nurse but it looks like thats never going to happen

Fun question

How did you pick your twins names? Owen (b/c we liked it) Alexander - its my brothers middle name
Rhys ( agreed upon while on the operating table) Allen - its my FIL first name, although from the reaction the IL's gave us, I wish
we would have picked something I liked (they were disgusted we didn't
use my husbands middle name -which we both hate)

-Are you bfing or pumping or both?Right now, Im only nursing 1 baby. I did a combination in the beginning and while I was working FT.

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)? Well, they are almost 14 months! DS is still getting BM. DD recieved it until 13 months when I stopped pumping for her (she stopped nursing at 8 months)

-Do you work or are you a SAHM? Being a SAHM is far more work than any job I'll ever have :) I worked FT till the twins were 8 months. Now Im lucky enough to work Just 2 days a week and stay home all the rest!

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping? My goal is for child-led weaning to occur on their terms, not mine.
Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why brake tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names? My DH picked his and I picked hers. We wanted older names, names that wernet common and names we could both tolerate :)

-Are you bfing or pumping or both? now, i'm just BFing, but i pumped quite a lot for the first 3 months or so & then about once a day for another 3 months (for a daily bottle) before i couldn't take it anymore!

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)?
for almost 9 months now.

-Do you work or are you a SAHM? currently i'm a SAHM but i'll be going back to work in september when the girls are 14 months old. i'm already sad about it (in some ways).

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping? i'll likely wean down to 1-2 nursing sessions a day for when i'm back at work, but after that i'm hoping to nurse as long as the girls want to. i'd be happy to nurse them for years i think...but i'm willing to go with the flow.

How did you pick your twins names?
DH & i each came up with our own short list of names. we compared lists & realized we had about a half dozen of the same names - we picked our girls' first names from that list. their middles names are after our mothers.

Welcome new Mommies!!!

-Are you bfing or pumping or both? My boys both have stopped nursing, at about 8 months. I still try to latch them, but most times I pump 3-5 times a day.

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)? 9.5 months I'm very proud of that--it's been an uphill battle all the way. :)

-Do you work or are you a SAHM? I'm in the labor force...work full time, but have a flexible job, so I go to work 2-3 days and work from home other days.

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping? I have to make it to a year. Even if these little dudes won't nurse again...I'll go until a year.

Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why brake tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names? Eli is my brother's name; Matthew was the only middle name starting with M that we agreed on and didn't sound bad with Eli. Mark is the one and only name my husband liked an offered--pathetic isn't it. Emmanuel is my husband's friend. Like Jess (I like you kiddies name BTW) I wanted names that weren't trendy; and the DH was insistent that they be short and easy to spell because their last name is not short or easy to spell.

-Are you bfing or pumping or both? Both, pumping while I am at work.

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)? Since birth, although they didn't start nursing well until they were 3-4 weeks old.
-Do you work or are you a SAHM? I work 20 hours per week, over 4 days.

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping? 1 year, if I can get through my current low supply issues. I agree with PP that it's been an uphill battle many days.Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why brake tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names? We both loved "Laney" and picked "Delaney" to be the full name. DP worked at a local children's hospital years ago and really bonded with an infant named Zachary, who later passed away from leukemia. She promised her that if she ever had a little boy, she'd name him Zachary. I love the name too, but even if I didn't, who could turn it down after that story?

-Are you bfing or pumping or both?
I'm breastfeeding them both but started pumping a few days ago so that my husband can take over one meal at night - he's a bit jealous of all the cuddling :)

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)?
just for two weeks since they were born. they both latched on immediately and so far (knock on wood) tandem feeding them works like a charm!

-Do you work or are you a SAHM?
at the moment, i'm home. germany is a bit of a paradise in terms of baby raising - we are forced (really, forbidden by law) to work for 12 weeks after the birth of muliples (eight for singletons). then we get paid to stay home for up to three years. i'm planning on taking off until september and then go back to work.

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping?
i'm hoping to bf exclusively until i go back to work and then continue pumping/bf when possible.

Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why brake tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names? our boys are called ephraim matanel and baram menashe. in jewish tradition, we name after deceased relatives (at least use their initials). my husband's father passed away and the 'm' in both names is for him. 'e' and 'b' are for two grandmothers. ephraim and menashe were the first pair of brothers mentioned in the torah to get along and not fight - we thought that would be a great omen; matanel means 'gift of God' and baram means 'son of the people'. so lots of different stories here...

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)?
4 months and one week

-Do you work or are you a SAHM? I'm returning to work in two days (yikes!)

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping? To bf (pump while at work) for one year... after that we'll see how it goes.

Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why brake tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names? My dh and I talked about the name Lucy years before we had our girls, it's a close family friend's name and we really love her and love the name. While I was pregnant I read tons of books and came across characters named Nora multiple times... I liked it and dh okayed it if he could pick out their middle names: Lucy Cameron (after her brother, my stepson) and Nora Lindsay (after my sister). Coincidentally we discovered that both names mean "light" from the announcement page on the hospital website.

-Are you bfing or pumping or both? For my now almost 4yo twins, I pumped while they were in the NICU for 1 week, and then when I returned to work part time at 3 months, but always just nursed while at home. I nursed them for a year. with my new little one, I am just BFing. I will start to pump when I return to work part time (3 days a week), but will continue to nurse at home.

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)? For the twins, about 16 months. For this little one, the 3.5 wks that she's been here!

-Do you work or are you a SAHM? I will return to work part time when my newest baby is 3 months old. Fortunately, it is just part time.

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping? I'll BF for at least a year.

Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why brake tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names? Kathleen is after my deceased MIL. Isabella is just because I loved it. :) My newest baby is Amelia. Just because my DH and I loved it.

Dh liked Zachary and I thought it was nice so we chose that name.

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)? 7.5 months and counting!

-Do you work or are you a SAHM? I work full time, but have a flexible job, so I can work from home when I need to.

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping? I will throw this pump out the window on their first birthday... I HATE pumping! :p I'll slowly wean after their first birthday.

Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why brake tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names?

With great difficulty!! DH and I could not agree on ANYTHING. We also have a very long last name, so we needed something straightforward and short. We LOVE DS1's name, so every name we came up with was "ok... but not as good as DS". We finally settled on 2 names we both liked. Admittedly, I didn't like DS3's name for a few weeks, but he really grew into the name and now it suits him.

Are you bfing or pumping or both? Mostly Bfing, pumping occasionally.

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)? Nearly 16 weeks.

-Do you work or are you a SAHM? SAHM

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping? I purposely haven't set a goal. I had one with my first son and didn't make it to that goal. I beat myself up about it for a very long time. I have mini goals that I promised myself I wouldn't become to invested in. I got to three months. Now I would like to get to 6. We'll see what happens after they started solids.

-How did you pick your twins names? For their first names, we just chose names we liked. They each have 2 middle names and they are all after family members.

I have been EBF my small girls for 15 months.

I am a SAHM.

I'm pretty sure I will make the girls quit before kindergarten, but these are my last ones, and I intend to let them go until they're done :)

DH and I have always struggled to agree on names (and thank goodness they were girls, because Andrew is the only boy name we have ever really liked). We both made lists, and I think that Allison is the only one that we both liked. Sarah has always been our stand-by name since the first pregnancy, and when we couldn't think of anything else, we decided that was for her.

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)?
My boys are 9 months old next week- I also nursed my other children for a year each.

-Do you work or are you a SAHM?

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping?
I would like to make it a year like I did with my other kids.

Don't really have good story, just liked the names (Simon and Charlie)and thought they sounded good with our daughters names (Sophia and Abby). THe boys middle names are their great-grandfathers (still living and a big part of their lives!!)
So full names are Simon Richard and Charles William...

You crazy lady, Kristi! I was just thinking about this earlier today! :D

Are you bfing or pumping or both? Neither. :( I BF and pumped at work for 13 months, 7 days. I miss it every day.

How long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)? See above. Though, they are still receiving breast milk as I watch my awesome freezer supply dwindle.

Do you work or are you a SAHM? Working mommy. I teach HS history, mostly upper level (Honors and AP)

What is your goal for bfing/pumping? My goal was 6 months, then a year. At that point, my goal was 18 months, but I had to stop early because of persistent nipple trauma

Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why break tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names? Will is named after my father (William is Dad's middle name) and DH (Ryan is Will's middle name). John is named after both of my grandfathers and because we just liked the name John since many of our historical heroes are John (John Calvin, John Knox, Jonathan Edwards....we're big ol' nerds around here). My dad's dad's middle name was John, and my mom's dad's middle name was Colton. HIS mother (my great-grandmother) was an ID twin.

-Are you bfing or pumping or both?
Tried to bf, but never got them to latch well even with lc consults.
And it never got to be part of the routine. Been pumping every 2-3 hours since started pumping.
Dropped overnight pumpings at 3 months.

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)?
Since they were born. So now over 6 months

-Do you work or are you a SAHM?
SAHM...feel like a "professional" pumper, rofl

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping?
Well, it originally was to provide milk for the 1st 4 months for immune system development.
Now I'm getting myself emotionally ready to ease off.
I gotta do the math one of these days... 10 mins pumping every 2 hours for 90 days,
15-20 mins pumping every 2-3 hours during the daytime for um, let's see 3 months?,
with some pumping a little over 20 mins to fully empty... Yeah, too many hours, but cheaper than formula.
Maybe I should ask my dh for a paycheck for my milk.

-How did you pick your twins names?
Both names mean almost the same thing. Nathaniel and Matthew.

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)?

How did you pick your twins names?

My girls were supposed to be Mimi and Olive, and then Farah and Luca, both were my favorite combo's and then DH at the last minute hated both :( So, we chose Louisa for my aunt and because it's a name of one of the girls in Sound of Music and that's how I was named her middle name, Bea is for my husband's first initial of his name "B". Greta is named for my sister (Gretchen) and her middle name Mattea is for my brother (Matthew)

-Are you bfing or pumping or both?

Right now I'm breastfeeding but I'm starting to supplement more formula because of supply/stress issues so I'll probably start doing more pumping to add to the bottles.

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)?

18 Weeks

-Do you work or are you a SAHM?

SAHM

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping?

I initially wanted to breastfeed for at least 3 months then switch to pumping for the first year. Now after a lot of stress and changes in my life recently (and in turn supply issues) my goal is to pump/bf until 6 months at least.

Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why brake tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names?

My DH has always loved the name Walker and he finally talked me into it. ;) I can't imagine him having a different name now of course. His middle name (Edward) is my DH's middle name and his grandfather's name. We couldn't agree on a name for DD and my SIL said if she would have had a girl she would have loved Jocelyn....we amazingly both liked that name so it stuck. Her middle name (Rose) was just one that I thought was pretty and went nicely with Jocelyn. :)

Are you bfing or pumping or both? Both...We nurse 3X a day (now that they are FINALLY STTN!!) and I pump 3X a day (twice at work and again after they are in bed)

How long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)? See ticker...8 1/2+ months

Do you work or are you a SAHM? I work full-time as a research scientist...and I miss my babies every moment.

What is your goal for bfing/pumping? At least a year...I didn't think I would make it that far after the 6-month mark rolled around. The pumping at work was starting to be a major burden. But when I relaxed and allowed myself to pump just twice, supplementing with a single bottle of formula each day, I was finally able to find the balance to ensure that we WILL make it!

Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why break tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names? Not a very exciting story...DH and I each poured through a giant baby name book and made separate lists. And then over a large piece of mud pie (!!) we compared notes and pulled together our 5 favorite of each gender to take to the hospital. I knew my opinion would count the most when the time came, but it still took us almost 24 hours after the babies were born to finally decide!!! We are terrible with decisions

I finally had time to read through everyone's response and add my own... sorry that took me so long!

-Are you bfing or pumping or both? both... mainly bfing, but pump for extra supply and if I'm gone for a while... I suppose I could start to give up pumping soon once we hit a year... guess I need to educate myself on that... I had hoped that I'd have a little frozen supply... but it seems when I get 15 bags or so, we end up using them and hovering around 5 bags... enough to send with them for an afternoon or for me to have an evening out... but not much extra. that's ok, I've been blessed to sustain bf'ing so long!

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)? since birth - 11 months

-Do you work or are you a SAHM? I work part time, though am able to do most of it at home... I go into the office only 1 afternoon a week.

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping? I always figured I'd go for 1 year... now that its getting closer, I figure I'll just keep on going... maybe 18 mo?

Fun question (Jackie always has one and I love it so why break tradition!):

How did you pick your twins names? Luckily I chose well... my dh always has "veto power"... but we did end up liking the names and I'd picked... though its not hard when I honored his family for our son! Davis Matthew - Davis is a family last name in my dh's family on both sides and Matthew is my dh's middle name, so we didn't look very far for names there. Jessa Louise - I'd seen Jessa in a baby name book back when we started ttc... a long time ago... and I kept my idea to myself for many years so that no one would "take my name"... :D Louise is my mother's middle name... I got my maternal grandmother's middle name, so I thought I'd follow tradition.

How did you pick your twins names?

Hi, my name is Laura and I have almost 6 week old twins. I have breastfed my three older children each from 1- 2.5 years and am now nursing my twins.
I am exclusively breastfeeding, no pumping. My babies were born at 37 weeks so I was able to start working with them at the breast from day one, so they have been breastfed for the last 6 weeks (tomorrow).
I am a SAHM right now, hopefully will be able to continue to be home.
I am planning to nurse to a year , no question and from there will see how the babies feel about it and continue as long as they want.
How we picked names...had a really hard time coming up with names, read name books and made lists of names we both did not hate! Noah and Aiden were two nmes we both felt like we liked so we had them in mind all along but never decided "these are the names" until they were born.

BFing and pumping, though mostly pumping atm

-Do you work or are you a SAHM?
SAHM

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping?
I'd love to be able to exclusively BF, with tandem nursing, but haven't gotten anywhere close to that yet.

We wanted something classic and not similar. The boys' middle names are both from grandfathers.

How did you pick your twins names? One of the kids at my daughter's swimming classes was named Greta and I fell in love with the name right away. I came across the name Finn in a book and really liked it.

-Are you bfing or pumping or both?
pumped for first 3 months and supplemented w/ formula until babies took to breast well. I would really like to pump some to build a freezer stash, but have neither the time or motivation. So my LOs are exclusively BF about 95% and get a bottle of formula here and there when I'm away from them.

-how long have you been providing breastmilk to your baby(s)?
For my twins, since birth (7+ months), my firstborn BF 9 mos and DD for 14 mos

-Do you work or are you a SAHM?
SAHM

-What is your goal for bfing/pumping?
My first goal was 2 months, but now, who knows? Past a year for sure.

How did you pick your twins names?
wow, long story, we wanted alliterative names but couldn't agree, so after nearly strangling dh, He named Eleanor and I picked Audrey, then we each picked the others' middle name.

I EBF. I try to pump when they STTN but alas I don't as much as I could.

The girls have been BF since birth and going strong 9 1/2 months!

I am SAHM LOVE IT!

I never set a goal for breastfeeding..... my son self weaned at 6 months when I had to return to work so this is all new to me. I hope to continue after 1 year.

Well we found out late in the pregnancy that we were having twins, which was awesome in the fact that my honey and me couldn't agree on a name. SO we each got to choose one with it OK'd by the other. Roxxci Lynn - her papa came up with that, her middle name is a take off of a family name among the women in his extended family. Zoe Elizabeth was chosen by me and she carries my middle name. Zoe stands for "Life" and Roxxci stands for "Dawn"
