Has anyone had a virtual baby shower?

Our family and friends are scattered all over the country and I am on bed rest - soon to be a permanent resident at a hospital about a half hour from our house until these kiddo's arrive.

A friend has suggested and I am just not sure of the reaction of our family/friends, being that there is no party - but many (if not most) would not travel for it if we had one anyway.

    Please give me your thoughts.

    Thanks,

    Nicole

I am inpatient in the hospital and I have a good friend that wanted to throw me a shower - so we are waiting til a few weeks after they are born...since I went inpatient at 26 weeks.

Having a "virtual shower" i have never heard of.

I was living in California, and my friends had a shower there. My family had one in New York without me, and my husband's family had one in Alabama without me! We just had things shipped to us, or people brought things when they came to visit. There were a few large items that my sister returned for me and got gift cards so that I could purchase the same things in CA. It was fun for everyone even though I wasn't there- at least that is what they said! :icon_biggrin:

Usually hospitals have a room that you can have a baby shower in......mine did. I went in the hospital the day before my baby shower so my husband attended mine and opened all the gifts. The ladies loved it......they said he was a riot.
