Insurance is an agreement between a person and a company that provides financial protection against unexpected events. Whether it is a car accident, illness, natural disaster, or theft, insurance helps people recover losses and reduce financial stress. It plays a very important role in both personal life and business.

There are many different types of insurance. Health insurance covers medical expenses when someone gets sick or injured. Car insurance protects drivers in case of accidents or damage to their vehicles. Home insurance helps pay for repairs if a house is damaged by fire, storms, or other disasters. Life insurance provides money to a person’s family after their death, helping them manage financially during a difficult time.

The basic idea of insurance is sharing risk. People pay a small amount of money regularly, called a premium, to the insurance company. In return, the company promises to pay for certain losses if something bad happens. Even though not everyone will need to use their insurance, the premiums from many people create a large fund that can help those who do.

Insurance offers peace of mind. People feel safer knowing that they are financially protected. It also promotes stability in society. For example, businesses can operate with more confidence if they know they are protected against major risks. Banks often require insurance before giving loans for cars or homes because it lowers financial uncertainty.
