    Hi all,

I've been having an awful time lately getting to sleep and staying asleep. Even when I am exhausted and have gotten myself comfortable, lately I just lie there tossing and turning for no good reason.
I read on one of the pregnancy books the other day that there is actually a biological reason for this. In late pregnancy, nature is preparing us for round-the-clock feedings. And maybe we need to be even more prepared with twins?

Have you experienced insomnia in late pregnancy? Even when you were feeling somewhat comfortable and tired?

    Thanks!!

    Kelly

I had trouble sleeping with both my pregnancies, especially as I got bigger. Hope you can get some good z's soon. :hug99:

I did when I was pregnant with the twins. I was just too big and unformfortable, but no matter how much you can't sleep or are tired now, it is ten times worse than they are born. I don't know why that is. Maybe because of all the hormones, screaming and feeding around the clock.

I actually had it horribly during my beginning of my second trimester. I would sleep 3 hours and then be up the rest of the day. Exhausting! My doc gave me a prescription for Ambien which worked half the time. I don't know why. I'm just now starting to sleep 6+ hours straight again. I believe I also had it towards the end of my pregnancy with DS. It certainly didn't get me ready for the lack of sleep 'round the clock once he was born. Hahaa!

Yes! I just learned to go ahead and accept it because it did prepare me for after the birth. But here at the hospital on bedrest, I am given Ambien. . . but I'm still up every hour to go to the bathroom.

Ambien sweets.. Ambien. You will have plenty of time to no sleep.. if your dr will give it to you then get yourself some. They actually make a generic form now that is way cheaper. I just got some last week and I am sleeping much better now..though still up to use the restroom.. I am getting back to sleep much faster.

Not late, but I've experience insomia in early pregnancy! I usually sleep past noon on the weekends- now, no matter how late I stay up, I wake up at the latest 8:00 a.m. I've also had trouble falling asleep.

I actually did take half an Ambien CR last night and I felt so tired I was dizzy. It has always worked great for me in the past. I was sure I'd fall right to sleep but 2 hours later, there I was, still tossing and turning!
    So frustrating....
