My boys are 6 mos 3 wks old and at first they didn't show an interest in each other but the past month or two they scream if they are farther then 5 ft apart and they do not sleep unless they are in the same crib (which I'm told is bad to do) Is this something to be concerned about (they will not fit in the same crib/bed forever) and does anyone else have this problem?

My girls want to be together 100% of the time too! It is so sweet...they follow erach other around the playrooom and wont sleep unless both are in their cribs. Mine sleep in seperate cribs, end to end. They standup and look at each other until they fall asleep. Lately, I've been finding all 4 socks on the floor in between the cribs. They must be trying to pass them to each other or through them at each other. SO cute

Mine seem to be like that already! They have been side by side, bundled together in their NICU crib for 3 wks; now they fuss if we seperate them. I'm a little concerned; it was ok to sleep together wehn they had monitors to ward of SIDS, but I'm worried about it now that we're home.

Were your boys always like that? Or just recently?

It's sweet, but I can see how it oculd make some things difficult.. .

Mine have been noticing each other for about 6 weeks now...and they are 6mths 5days. They don't really play with each other...but they do love to grab each other's hair. I just started separating the girls in the past week...one seemed to be waking the other, and we had not had this problem up until this point. A friend of mine let her twins sleep in the same crib until they were 10.5 months old. She only separated them because she caught them trying to get each other out of the crib by climbing on each other to get out! I was hoping to keep them in the same crib for a longer time...two cribs won't fit in our nursery, and the other room for them is not finished yet!
I don't think there is anything bad about sleeping in the same crib if they do not mind it. Just watch for signs that they might be climbing on one another to get out! my mom has twin friends who told me that they slept together in the same bed until they went to college!
By the way...I would love to see a picture of your identical triplets! How cool that you had identical triplets!

Iwas more worried about them rolling onto one another and suffocating, than I was climbing out.

Erica: I think you could keep them together as long as you want. If they start bothering each other too much, sure then you can switch them. I think if they roll over on each other, it will either wake them or they will move out of the way if their brother is compromising their sleep. How sweet they must be all together. If you get a picture of all three sleeping together I would love to see them!

Erica, that's tough!! Your guys will outgrow their crib even faster with 3 of them in there.....

I would start putting them in separate cribs maybe in a configuration that allows them to see, hear and smell each other. I'm sure it's tricky with 3 cribs anyhow, so hmmmm. Not sure!

They will probably get used to it FASTER while they are YOUNGER vs. later when they are MORE stubborn.
