A cousin of mine said they would buy us a twin stroller then went ahead and bought us two single strollers because the shop they went to doesn't sell twin strollers!!!!!!!!

Probably from lack of sleep, i told my mother that it was a uselesws purchase. of course now i feel ungrateful but... i cant take the girls out in TWO strollers??? I rung up the shop and they dont stock twin strollers and they also have stamped all over the receipt "Goods sold are non-refundable" grrrrrrrrr

im probably just venting but maybe someone could give me some useful suggestions............

Ummmm, you have 2 choices as I see it....

    1. Only go somewhere if you will have another person with you at all times to push the other strolller,

    or

    2. Sell the strollers (e-bay, yardsale, newspaper etc etc) and use the cash towards a new (or new to you) stroller.

You aren't ungrateful, that really was a huge waste of her money and probably is going to be a huge waste of your time getting soemthing to replace them with!

You can use them when they are older. It does come in handy to have two single ones then, trust me.

But right now, at their age, it is definitely much easier with a double stroller.

Check out www.freecycle.org ----that's how I found a new owner for one of my twin strollers I didn't need anymore. The stuff is FREE!! [IMG]

it is a bit of a daft present and you definitely will need a double buggy soon.

however, if they're the light umbrella style ones then you may find them useful as the girls get older. my sister loaned us one and it's been brilliant - we're even thinking of buying a second. it may be because i live in europe (small streets and shops) but it's much much easier for me to go to the stores with one in a single and one carried in a baby carrier. also there are times like doctors trips when you only want to take one. and if we were going out with friends without a baby then i'd probably take two single strollers.

we do use our double, but it's heavy to get in and out of the car etc and two singles are so much easier to get around (and less attention from others).

Wow! Thanks for the great suggestions! I hear you that the single stollers will come in useful at a later date. Thanks for the freecycle suggestion - I forgotten I'm a member of that!!

If you want to sell them, try craigslist.org and find your local site. I've sold all sorts of baby stuff and made over $500 back this summer! That money has paid for more baby stuff, of course. I did buy a brand new single stroller-step up from an umbrella stroller with good storage-for only $15 and we do use that when one of us goes out with just one baby for one-on-one time. With a Combi twin savvy and a double jogger, I don't think I'd want to store two singles!

Absolutely you can use them! We registered for Both single and double stroller...b/c if my hubby takes one out or I take only one out it's perfect! Plus I have two older DD's...so they each get to push one.

Think twice b/f you sell it!

I think you could definitely use them. We got a double snap n go and a single snap n go. I love the single and use it when I go out with just one baby. Also, sometimes I wish we had two so we could each take a stroller when we go out. It's easier to maneuver two separate strollers rather than one double in the stores if two people are there. So I say keep them, you'll use them and until you get a double, you can buy those stroller connecters and connect them together to make a double. They aren't the greatest, but a good backup.

I have been considering buying them myself. There have been times when I wanted to run somewhere and thought I could take one of my girls and leave the other one with daddy. But the thought of getting our big double stoller out for one kid was a pain for me and having to deal with questions on where is the other kid was too much. I think it's a great thing to have. You never know when that will come in handy.

Are they nice strollers? I might sell one and keep one. Sometimes I take mine out wearing one in a sling and pushing one in a stroller, and the single comes in handy then. Or you can use it later, as others have suggested.

I think you really need a double because there will be times when you have to go out alone with your babies - BUT it would be nice to have the singles also -

You will also need a double stroller...that is a no brainer.

But, I do have one single stroller and I use it relatively often. I have to take my daughter separately to doctor's appointments and the single stroller works great for that (I have a nanny during the day who watches the other one when I go). And I take them separately to a stroller exercise class, one goes with me on Tuesday and the other on Thursday...we use the single stroller for that too.

Now they are pretty heavy and pushing the double stroller is quite a workout. If both DH and I were taking them somewhere it would be nice to be able to push two single strollers instead of the heavy double one. DH pushes it right now, but we may invest in a second single stroller somewhere along the way.

While it was definitely an unthinking gift -- and more so if they had said they would be buying you your double stroller -- as you can see from the posts, it does have its merits. I wish I had been smart enough to buy singles early in the game, so that I could have gone out with one baby in a stroller and the other in the Bjorn carrier. We still haven't gotten around to getting singles, but plan to sometime in December -- they are exactly what I want when I go out with only one baby (and in the colder weather I find it's too bulky to use the Bjorn, what with winter coats, etc.) DH and I have also said all along that we want two singles so that we can go out as a foursome and actually split up if we want, or at least maneuver more easily and rapidly through enclosed spaces. I say keep 'em, unless you can get good money for them and need that money right now. Although...I'm in the market for two good singles...what kind are they? [IMG]

Ditto the pp's. One of my girls doesn't much care for riding in a stroller so I'll put her in the wrap carrier and the other one in the single stroller. Also I've found that it's much easier to get around this way. There are very few stores that are too small for a single stroller, and they are easier/lighter to push in small aisles like at Once Upon a Child. I feel like we're more mobile with this arrangement and if I'm out running errands I'll often take the single stroller and leave the double at home.

It also makes it harder for ppl to see that you have twins. Yesterday at the grocery I had one in the wrap and the other in her carseat in the cart and only one person noticed there were 2 babies. It was the fastest I ever got in and out of the store LOL!

    Just my two cents...
They have this thing, I don't know what it is called, but it is a connector for two umbrella single strollers! I think I saw it at TRU or BRU?? I know it is on the web somewhere...

Definitely the best solution. Try Craigslist, the money is untraceable and you will get cash for your item.

Babies R Us sells contector that attach two strollers together. Its a set of 3 connectors. I use it to connect my double stroller to my single stroller!

You will probably really want a double stroller for the next several months, but I'd keep the singles (assuming they are good ones) -- I really wish I had single strollers now (although just one would be enough).

Keeping the singles is a great idea. We just got Micah's out of the attic this evening. MIL has agreed to take one of the babies at a time (after one stint of 2.5 hours alone with both she's afraid to keep both at the same time) to help out since I work at home during the day and we are sending her the single stroller, Micah's carrier/car seat and his PNP. Will make it easier on both her and I to do the transfer. So maybe leave one with your mom or someone who will help out with one at a time.

You'll probably get some use out of them when they get older. Now a double stroller is probably best, but I find that when they are a little older and we're in a store. DH can take one one way and I can take the other the other way.

Your other option is to resell them on ebay or something and order a twin stroller from the internet.

Speaking of useless gifts, this is off the baby topic, but I got 2 sets of twin bedding as a wedding gift.... [IMG]

I LOVE having two single strollers. Now granted, you will need a double stroller if you ever plan on being alone with them! BUT, we use our two single strollers all the time, and almost EVERY time that there is another adult around. It just makes things so much easier, and the kids are much happier having their own space.

In retrospect, I would have invested more money into two good single strollers earlier on. We bought two cheap baby-trend strollers. They serve their purpose (trays, big basket) but they are hard to manuever and poor Ben barely fits!
