ingredients in acne treatment safe?

    Hi

    I am a first time mom expecting twins and prone to breakouts! I am using this acne cream that has the following ingredients. I checked on most which are considered safe and the rest of which Im not sure of. Im wondering if anyone has the same concerns I have or if anyone is using acne treatment that has the following ingredients?

    Appreciate any advice/feedback.

    Nervous with acne :)

    Ingredients (not sure if considered safe for pregnant women)
    Allatoin
    Diazolidinyl Urea
    Ammonmiun Hydroxide

    Ingredients (considered safe for pregnant women)
    Glycolic acid
    Glyceryl Stearate
    Peg -100
    Sulfur
    Propylene Glycol
    Tea Stearate
    Glycerin
    Lactic Acid
    Pathenol
    Methylparaben
    Propylparaben
    Quatermium-15

    You really should talk to your doctor about it.. the skin does absorb these kind of products...and it does get into the blood stream which means it can be passed onto baby. I wouldn't use it until you get it okayed by your doctor. You might be able to check it out on the FDA website... I think they classify things like this in terms of the risk for pregnant women... The other thing to remember is that when break-outs are happening, as a result of hormones, the products that normally work for you might not work the same way anyway. And also, something I always noticed is that I tended to break out in the first trimester, then it would clear up towards the middle of the second trimester.... not sure how far along you are...but it might clear up on it's own eventually.

    My Dr told me to avoid acne products until the 2nd trimester, as they often contain ingredients that are a deritivative of Vitamin A, which is bad for developing beans. Now, I've cheated a few times, because I am a MESS, but only a few pin point spots. I also confessed this to her, and she just shrugged it off.

    I was told not to use anything with Salicylic acid in it. Talk to your Dr.
