I know this is a touchy subject, but if you were induced or had a scheduled C-section, I would like to know how the decision was made. Was it you or your OB who sugested it? How was the date picked?

    Thanks.

My blood pressure was going up. My OB over reacted a bit to the peri's comment... and it was a Wednesday and they didn't want to induce on the weekend... my OB called to say he wanted me to come in the next morning at 4am to the hospital... that was at 38 wks. I asked if I could just go to my scheduled OB visit in the morning and see how my bp was then.

I was able to beg off one more week. Then we scheduled my induction for 39 wks. I ended up not advancing into labor and my bp kept going up etc, so I had a c-section... ugh! but it ended up fine.

My first pregnancy was a singleton but was an emergency c-section for toxemia. I simply went with the doctor's recommendation. This time around with twins, I have a team of peri's who have made it pretty clear they won't schedule me for anything until at least 36 weeks and will go to 38 if my body lets me. So it sound like I don't have that 'say' in when I go -- and I'm ok with that.

With the twins I had PTL at 29weeks and again at 32 weeks. My OB kept me on bedrest and procardia until 34 weeks. I kept dialating and effacing but I wasnt in labor.
My OB swore I would never get to 38 weeks and if I did thats when she would induce as she doesnt let twins go over 38.5 weeks.
By the time we neared 37 weeks my blood pressure was 130/95 (when Im normally 100/50) I felt like I was experiencing internal bruising from them so I asked if she would induce at 37 weeks. She still didnt think I would make it but agreed.
On induction day I showed up to the hospital 5cm dialted and 100% effaced. So it probably wouldnt have been safe to continue letting me walk around like that anyway!
from the time she broke my water till the last baby was born was 5 hours. I had 2 healthy babies and a vaginal birth.

    Thanks!

    I am just really confused!

Everything is in order for a vaginal delivery and the babies are well thus far, so my OB said that he would let me go to 40 weeks, but I don't know if I want to! My head says that I should go as far as I can, but my body and emotions/crazy hormones say no more than 38 weeks please! We will be 37 later this week and I NEED a plan. But he won't give me any sort of plan.... he has 5 other twin pregnancies close to mine and all the C-sections moms know their dates (if they make it that far), yet I am living in la la land here. Why is it C-sections get a plan, but I don't ?

I will say that I loved going into labour naturally with my son, but really feel like I need a plan B, especially for the care of DS while we are delivering. Are we allowed to tell our doctors what to do???????? :)

Sorry for venting, but hubby doesn't quite get it.

My BP was continually high during the last trimester with a lot of weight gain (my doctor assured me it was fluid). He was worried about pre-eclampsia so he scheduled me for induction at 36 weeks 3 days. When I showed up at the hospital that morning the team of doctors had decided a c/section was in the best interest health wise for all of us (myself and the babies). I was so upset because I had my heart set on a vaginal delivery, I was so afraid of a c/section. The babies were both head down, so I thought for sure I would be able to deliver vaginally. Good thing they decided to give me a c/section, Baby A had the cord rapped snug around her neck twice. I did develop pre-eclampsia after I gave birth and had to stay in the hospital for 5 days until it was under control.
So, the induction date and the c/section both were decided by the doctors. My OB did let me pick the date as long as it was within the week he chose.

Vent away!!! You came to the right place for it. I'm sure you can tell them what you want, but I have a feeling they are going to do what they want anyway. Parodical, ye know! :headbang:

:youcandoit: Hang in there, the end is in sight. :youcandoit:
