Induction date set!

Granted this will be my second birth experience, as I have a two year old.....
I am currently 37 weeks pregnant with di/di boy/girl twins, and my doc just set the date for the 22nd for induction, if I haven't gone into labor naturally by then. I cannot believe I have made it this far, since my first child was five weeks early! I am now kinda freaking out! I want them out so badly, but I am getting really nervous about the labor and delivery aspect of it. I know they have to come out somehow....there is no getting around that now. Any advice? We are going to try for vaginal as both are vertex and ready to go.

Panic attack will commence shortly. LOL

I don't have any advice for you, but wanted to congratulate you on making it this far. It is so exciting to know the date.

 

Woo hoo!! Scary yes but great too. Good for you for making it this far! I had to have oxytocin last time as I was 10 days overdue and my contractions weren't in a good pattern when they finally started. It wasn't that bad, but then again when they did the drip they gave me an epi right away so I have nothing but fond memories roflmbo! Good luck momma! It will be fine whatever way they choose toc come! :hug: I remember that "they have to come our somehow" feeling from last time, I dont think it ever goes away heehee. You can do it!

Molly - BIG HUG! You are going to do just fine! Way to go on keeping them in there for so long! Thats wonderful!

I will be thinking about you and can't wait to see pictures and hear your birth story!
I'm jealous that you will be getting to meet your babes so soon! I find out a day before you give birth what the genders are of mine....so I still have a ways to go!

i'm sure you'll do fine molly!!! the end is in sight and that is always nerve wracking!!! my docs refuse to do an induction because both babies are not head down...it also took 2 full days of pitocin and a tab of cytotec in the middle to get izzy (my now 3 year old) to come out last time and i asked to avoid that kind of thing if possible! i guess technically i'm a "voluntary c-section"...but whatever...best of luck to you and i REALLY hope the induction goes quickly and smoothly!

 

Molly! OMG! We are in the same boat. I have a scheduled c-section for the 22nd. My son was 5 weeks early and I have never experienced true labor pains.

I am pretty much freaking out too, I lot my muscus plug and now I just sit and wait! How exciting that we will have twins on the same day.

 

Congratulations- how exciting!! My sisters twins will be 3 on July 22nd- great birthday!

 

Congrats!!! You're doing a fantastic job growing those babes. Hard for me to say too much since the twins were my only babes, but it seemed like the only real difference between vag. birth of a singleton and twins is Baby B. Sorry if that sounds obvious. Somehow before labor I assumed things would be wildly different. That inter-birth period is a little weird too. I couldn't relax and hold Baby A as much as I'd like to, since there was serious work left to do! LOL. She got plenty of attention from her daddy and grandmother.
