Increased movement - sign of PTL?

Is increased baby movement indicative of impending labor? I woke up around 2am last night (believe it or not my DH and I were both woken up by the timer in our Scattegories game, which is kept in our tv stand in the master bedroom, going off, apparently for no reason - can you imagine?). When I tried to fall back asleep BABY A was moving all over the place. It was really abnormal as they usually do not move around too much at night. She was also going crazy for what seemed like a really long time, longer than usual. I finally fell asleep and they both have been at it all morning.

Does anyone know if this has any correlation with PTL?

I havn't heard of that being a sign of ptl, but if the movement continues like that you should call. My doctor always says to call if there is any change in movement. I know that for as much as I don't think I sleep very soundly, I must because my babies don't wake me up at night. You may have just noticed it because you were awake. I usually feel mine within a couple minutes of waking up, so I have to assume that they weren't just still all night and then decide to wake up when I do that would be way too convenient!

I have never heard of any correlation. Could it be the baby was startled because you were startled? Did you have a particularly busy day yesterday? Our activity can definitely control their activity, when you are active you are like a built in rocking chair then when you relax they wake up and have their parties!

Lately mine have been moving like crazy at night as well. I'm 32 weeks now and they have always been active and I have always worried about "too much movement". Lately though, I've read that at this stage there isn't enough room for them to really move around so much?? Mine move ALOT. Like fists and feet flying all over the place, poking outward. During the time they are practicing their gymnastics moves, when I get up from laying down I tend to have braxton hicks.
    Anyways, hopefully its all good.

  5. If it was PTL I imagine the symptom should be the opposite. They should be moving downward and move less due to contractions. A possible explanation could be something you ate last night....

Thank you for your responses. I was just surprised as I assumed they would be moving less with less room. I think I just feel every little movement now - some of them hurt!

Thanks again - I always appreciate your help!
