In one week's time....

We will be on a plane to ITALY! EEK! This will be my 3rd trip there-and it will be the FIRST for the boys! YIKES! We leave July 14 and return Aug 1. I am looking forward to the YUMMY pizza and other foods. I am not looking forward to the plane ride, as well as the constant go go go that we will be doing visiting relatives(mainly great grandparents-at least that's what MIL says... <_< ), and then of course the goodbyes :cray: .

We are going for the great grandparents to meet their first great grandchildren. DH's grandmother was here from December-March, so she has met them. I can't wait for all of them to meet the boys. They will be so in love! :wub: :wub:

And naturally-Nicholas is on a roll! Saturday he pulled himself up! He doesn't quite crawl-I think he is more interested in trying to walk! He can sit up on his own-and sometimes at night he gets into a sitting position vs laying down and sleeping! I hope that phase is over by Sunday night!

It should be a great time. Although-I might need some valium of sorts as we are going with my MIL and SIL. That might be enough to make me drink!

I also can't wait for the picture opportunities and sharing them with everyone!

MMMM, drink some wine for me will ya? Sounds so exciting! Showing off the babies, eating yummy food, drinking wine. Have a wonderful time. And, yay for Nicholas for standing up, he'll be cruising in no time.

My DH is straight from Italy, he's been in the US for 11 years. His WHOLE family except my BIL live there STILL!! We are going too. But not yet, next year.

IS this weird or what? For real. What part? How exciting is that! You'll have sooo much fun. I don't really WANT to go cuz I don't like my DH's family. Ha.

Oh and did I also tell you my best friend's name is Megan? Yep.. that too.

Too funny! And I guess maybe a bit creepy! DH's parents are from Calabria-southern Italy-NOT Sicily. MIL's whole family still lives there-no blood relatives here other than dh, sil, and now the grandchildren. FIL's mother and father are in Italy, as well as aunts, uncles, and some cousins. His mom was one of eight-and all but 3 came to the US-so they are all here.

We will have fun in one sense! I hope at least! Little nervous about the time change, etc. And the fact that from start to finish-it's about an 18 hour trip(from the time we leave our house for the airport until we reach great grandmother's house)!

Get ready for the pictures! If it's any indication of what I have so far...ohhh....2,000 some odd pictures and the boys aren't even 9 months old yet!

 

Sounds like it is going to be a great trip. I am sure it will take some adjustment to schedules and stuff but will be so worth it. So many kids don't get to know their great grandparents, nor do they get to go overseas to meet them. Can't wait to see pictures!!!

Have a wonderful trip! Just remember the plane ride is only a couple hours out of everyone's lives.. don't worry about what other people think, just think about how nice it will be to BE at your destination.

Oh my goodness how exciting. You have to take lots of pics and show us. I am sure the plane ride will be fine. Don't worry what others think. They will get over it. Try not to forget us ladies here at twinstuff when you are over there eating your good pizza & pasta's.
