...I will no longer have a uterus! It seems so strange to thing that something that has played such a huge role in my life will be gone! I know that sounds weird, but it's kind-of emotional for me. I haven't stopped bleeding since the twins were born, and we have tried everything. This is our last option. I am so young, only 28, but at least we were able to have 4 beautiful children.

And like you looking at the positive you have four beautiful little ones!! And to be a little funny... after you are all healed up... you can have all the crazy sex you want with no fear! (isn't that a good thing? hheee hee) Of course when you are not busy tending to kids, DH and other household things ;)

I would be very emotional too. In this case, I think it is going to be a huge improvement on your life. How does the surgery impact your hormones? Do you have to take supplements or anything? I'll be checking the blog for updates.

It will definitely be an improvement. They are going to leave my ovaries, so I won't have to take any hormones. I'm really happy about that, with all the controversy on taking hormones.

The plan is to do the surgery laparoscopically, where they will make 3 small incisions and remove the uterus vaginally. But because I have had 2 c-sections, there might be too much scar tissue to do it that way, and then they will have to do a full abdominal incision. I really really hope that that doesn't happen. That would make the recovery just like a c-section.

I will keep you all posted. Thanks for your thoughts!

I'm sure everything will go smoothly. My MIL just had a similar procedure and she recovered beautifully. And my gosh, you have a gorgeous family. You are so blessed to have FOUR BABIES! Your old friend has served you well ;) .
