    Hi,

I am new to this forum, I normally go to expecting twins but enjoy reading all the posts! I have a 14 month old and am due in the next 5 wks. I am not returning to work after the babies are born so trying to limit our spending. We desperately need a stroller to hold twins and our 14 mo. old. I was originally interested in the baby trend triple and the foundations triple trio tandem, then I saw the runabout valco with toddler seat and the phil and ted sport buggy. Does anyone know where I could get one for reduced price. I checked ebay and craigslist and no luck yet. Any suggestions on which stroller and will all of theses accomodate my 3 children? I would like to purchase one very soon so that when they arrive if I need to go out my by myself or even with my dh we only have to take one stroller. Any help would be appreciated!

There is a yahoo group called StrollerSwap: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/StrollerSWAP/

These are serious stoller people -- they can probably give you pros and cons and you can post to see if anyone is selling the one you are looking for. Personally, I found the Valco fold very difficult.

    Good luck!

I was at the mall the other day and a young couple had triple boys. They had a Valco stroller with 2 side by side and the middle was sort of being in between but further top. I had never seen it before and this was the first for us. We did talk briefly and saw that she had the "Valco" stroller hut told me it was very heavy if you want to take them around and would need help putting in and out of your Van. But it was the most interesting stroller I saw in the market for triple.

    I wish I can help!

I have the Valco with the toddler seat. I purchased it from www.kiwi-kid.com If you call and speak with Rodney he usually gives a great discount. I paid 580.00 for ours that included tax and shipping! I purchased the toddler seat about a month later, I can't remember what I paid but I know I got a good deal on that also. The stroller is heavy but I was able to lift it in and out of our Tahoe, we now have a Odyssey and am able to get it in and out...that said it is a bit awkward to lift, but it was the only way to get out with all 3 kids by myself...so worth it!!!!

If you have any more questions feel free to PM me

I posted a similar question a couple of months ago about a triple stroller and some women suggested the Joovy Big Caboose Stand and Sit Triple. I found it on walmart.com for $299. You can actually get it shipped for free to a store near you. This is the one we are going to get and I think the price is pretty reasonable. There aren't a ton of options out there for triple strollers. Good Luck!!!

I only have the twins but I found a triple jogging stroller at a garage sale - they just gave it to me. It was great for when their cousin would come over. We already got rid of it though, but try your local paper or when you DO get your mommy alone time, make on the weekends so you can make garage sale pit stops on the way home- you never know!

    Frick and Frack,

How do I buy a stroller from this site? Also I have seen on this site people say to "PO them", how do you do that?

My DD had just turned 16 months when my boys were born. I bought the Valco Twin Runabout with toddler seat and it has been a staple of our daily life. My DH was gone for the first 4 months after the boys were born, and this stroller allowed me to get out of the house so I didn't lose my mind! It is a little awkward to put in the car, but it's easy to maneuver and I haven't met a door we didn't fit through.

We didn't know how we were going to be able to afford this stroller either, but friends and family wanted to buy something for us, so asked for the stroller. Several went in together and bought it for us!

If you can find this stroller at a price you can afford, I hope you get it! My DD is now 3 and we don't use the toddler seat very often, so I'm glad I didn't end up going with a triple stroller.

I had the Valco for my youngest three. It was amazing!! A bit heavy to lift? Yes. Too heavy for me to do it almost daily? No. It pushed like air most of the time even with 100lbs of kid in it. I also ordered from kiwi-kid through Rodney and got the whole shebang for $599. That included the canopy for the toddler seat and a rain cover. I used a regular tandem triple to start with and hated it. It was horrible to push and load in and out of the van.

Did the $599 include the toddler seat?

Yes it did! Seriously, if there is any way you can swing the price it is so totally worth it.

I have a Valco too. We never got the toddler seat but love it anyways. We have had it for almost 2 years and I wouldn't have wanted any other stroller.

    Meredith,
Do you think I could still get the $599? We just haven't read that many good things about the other triple strollers. They all seem to say the middle seat has very little room and if this is the only stroller we have to buy it will be well worth it.

    Thanks!

It's possible. I would start with any MOMs groups in your area or that are close enough you'd drive to and see if anyone has one to part with. Otherwise, look up kiwi-kid.com (I think) and call them. Ask for Rodney and he'll help you out. I mentioned when I called that several mom's of twins had recommended him and as much as I wanted the stroller I needed a good deal. Good luck!

If you can't find one, I do have a Valco Twin Runabout with the toddler seat that we have outgrown and do not use anymore. I'd be interested in selling it if you're interested. It was a great investment and saved my sanity quite a few times. It is heavy to lift, but it's a great stroller.

    Melissa,

What color and condition is it in? Do you have pics you could send me? Also what price are you asking?

    THanks!

I'm also looking for a valco stroller with a toddler seat. Did Angeez buy yours or is she planning on it? If not, I'm interested.
