We can't do dairy anymore, so a lot of our old favorite: cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, are out. They're on a cracker strike & won't eat those anymore. So I'm making up the shopping list right now & need a few more ideas for snacks.

    thanks!

I don't trust my twins for this yet. But I did it with my older kids. I put cheerios, diced apples, anything little into little zip lock bags. They never got bored. they loved taking their snack out of the bag. It worked wonders while going shopping, waiting in line, etc, as well.

I don't trust my girls now, because they are still in the phase of "Lets dump the bag" rather then eating one piece at a time.

Fruit, fruit and more fruit! Sliced apples, kiwis, strawberries, plums, grapes, blue berries, raspberries, dried cranberries. Plus, we have Kashi cereal (the love it with the dried berries in it - the just eat it dry with their fingers), Cheerios, and Shreddies. Also, in the afternoon we'll often have vegetables - sliced raw red/orange/yellow peppers or cucumber. I've seen soy yogurt, which dairy free but I've never tried it. My friend loves it. She also serves a soy version of cream cheese on bagels - you can get it infused with fruit and veggie flavours. Good luck!

My girls LOVE fruit. I also give them a homemaid trail mix -- differnt cereals, raisins, cranberries. They love it.

We do a lot of dried fruit. They're particularly fond of mangoes from Costco, but will also eat raisins, Craisins (cranberries), blueberries, etc. I also give them snack bars -- not the power-bar type things with loads of extra vitamins and soy protein, but just chewy granola bars. (They have nuts in them, though.)

Our other standby snack is pretzels -- yogurt pretzels, peanut butter pretzels, chocolate pretzels.... Not the healthiest thing ever, but reasonably benign and the kids love them.

They also love muffins and quick breads.
