Well, we finally did it. We converted the cribs into toddler beds. Nap time was difficult, and we ended up putting Mikayla in her co-sleeper like we usually do. Michael got out of the bed 3 times and finally fell asleep on the floor.

Tonight I was out bowling, and DH put the twins to bed. Mikayla was an angel and layed there in the center of the bed. Michael got up 6 times, crying at the door. Finally he fell asleep. It took DH about 45 min. to get him down.

Right now they are sleeping, but Michael is balancing precariously close to the edge. I'm thinking I'm going to hear a big bang soon! And tears too!

Wish us luck! :( Cry! My babies are in big beds now!! The time went by too fast!

    Good luck !!
We just recently went from toddler bed and crib to twin size. I'm too scared to put them in a bed .. because they are both so restless when they sleep I decided to just put the matress on the floor until they are older.
Its a big transition but I'm sure your 2 will do fine !

Good luck! It does take time for them to get used to it.

Good luck! I did crib tents because I was too chicken to make the switch yet. Did you empty everything out of the room?

Congratulations! You are more brave than I am!! Mine haven't climbed out of their cribs yet, so I'm leaving their cribs as is until they do. Hopefully it won't be for a while yet. I enjoy the extra 30 min or so they play in their cribs when they get up.

No, we didn't take anything out of the room. All of their toys and books are still there.

Michael fell of the bed 3 times last night. I'd hear THUMP WAAAAAA!!! I'd go in and pick Michael up and put him back in his little bed. I ended up putting thick blankets and pillows by his bed. I don't think he is quite ready, but Mikayla really is.

Today we put him down for a nap. He fell out twice. By the 3rd time we gave him a book and he fell asleep with his book.

This morning I found the twins huddled on the floor next to Mikayla's bed. They weren't playing with any toys. ....just sucking thumbs and blankees. Awwwww!

Wow! That's early! WE have pooh bedrails when it comes time to get into toddler/twin beds. I hope it keeps getting better!

Wow, you converted them really early! Any particular reason? Were they climbing out? We are moving ours next month I think. I'm getting the room ready now. I want them to be full transitioned and comfortable when the baby comes!

YAY what a big milestone :) Do your cribs have a rail to keep them in? My cribs you can take off the front rail and use it that way. But no front rail attaches. And you cannot use twin bed rails as they are too heavy and the kiddos will fall with the rails which is much more dangerous! So you didnt take all the toys out? wow. I left just a few. My issue will be they have an antique wardrobe with a cabinet for a dresser. They love to climb in and play. But someone always ends up getting bonked on the head with the door or fingers pinched in the door. So that will prolly end up going soon. But the good thing is its DARK when they go to bed so that might help a little?

We did the switch today. I have a bottle wine to celebrate (forget how it went?) :p

Well, Michael was crawling out of his crib. Mikayla had been wanting to sleep in "mommy and daddy's bed", and we had been letting her do that SOMETIMES for nap. Mikayla is totally ready. I still question Michael, but it is done.

We don't have rails on these toddler beds. They are pretty close to the floor (from IKEA), and I've put pillows and very thick quilts/blankets next to Michael's bed.

He slept for 3 hours for nap today! YEA!! They just went down now and Mikayla again is laying there like an angel. Michael has gotten up twice so far, running to the door and crying. I've sat next to his bed and rubbed his head and back and sang to him. Then I gave him a sippy cup of water. I think he will stay this time.
