I'm tired of hearing myself talk

I feel like I talk all day. By the time DH is done with work, I don't even want to talk to him because I'm tired of talking. I have to repeat myself ten times to get the kids to follow directions. Just going upstairs for lunch is like this:

"Time for lunch, let's go upstairs!"
"Ainsley, no crayons, we're going upstairs."
"Bea, wait for Mommy and Ainsley."
"Yes, that an 'eeeew', leave it there" (Bea picks up every piece of lint)
"OK, we are going up not down, keep going!"
    "Go to your seats"
"Get out of the cat's water dish" (repeat 3-4 times)
And it goes on...you get the idea.[IMG]

    Anyone else?

[IMG] Sounds just like my house! One reason I'm glad DH has rehearsal in the evenings right now. After I put the girls to bed, I have a few hours where I don't have to talk to anyone!

Same here. At four years old it's no better. I still say that I need to just get a tape recorder out to record myself to play it for the kids every day.

i know what you mean. sometimes I just grab them both and haul them up myself and plop them in their seats. it takes so much effort... and getting first time obedience is really tricky.

OH! You mean the broken record playing in your head [IMG] Tee hee!! That's too funny.

I was sorta the opposite last night. DH has been traveling during the week for the past three weeks (one more, minimum) and I got babysitters last night so that I could go play tennis, I got there and all I wanted to do was talk to the other players. Pretty sad! [IMG]

Totally agreed! My day is along the lines of this...

    "Lola, shut the dishwasher!"
"Sophia, you can't get in the dishwasher either!"
"Girls, put those dishes back in the dishwasher, they are dirty!"
"Girls, leave the blinds, you are going to break them!"
    "Girls leave the dishwasher alone!!!"

Lol, it never ends. I was just thinking today about how much they DON'T listen to *me*. They listen to my DP though, go figure.

I made the mistake today of opening a window that they are in reach of. Yeah, they popped the screen out and the screen fell on the deck.

Oy! Here's to a stiff drink! [IMG]
