I'm so upset

My DH is out of town on a guy's weekend (snowmobiling in the upper penisula of Michigan and completely out of cell phone contact) and he was gone all last week on business, so I am going it alone with the kids. I get a call early this morning from my mom and she told me that my dad slipped on the ice going out to get the paper and broke his ankle. I live in Michigan and my parents live in Illinois. After a long day in two different hospitals, my mom calls to tell me that my dad broke his ankle in three spots and is going to have surgery on Wednesday to fix it. My kids turn 1 on Thursday and my parents were supposed to drive over this weekend for their birthday party and obviously that won't be happening now. My dad will either still be in the hospital or just getting home and mom won't be able to leave him. I am so upset. I am really close to my parents and it was so important for me to have them here this week when the kids turned one. So my DH calls this evening and is going on and on about his stupid trip and I can barely get a world in edge wise to tell him about my dad. Once I do, he just goes oh well and starts talking about his trip again. I am so sad and upset and mad, but I know it isn't anyones fault and I just needed to vent and had no one else to talk to this evening so I turned to you guys. Thank you for listening!

I suggest a "girls weekend" even if it's only you in a hotel room with a nice big fat bottle of wine!!!!

I would be upset too! I have a motto with the 'boys' night/week vacation thing.

I feel that what 'HE' gets ( a break/vacation) you should get!

Even if it's a night by yourself, Don't let him be the only one to get some relaxing time!!!

 

so sorry. Is it possible to push the girls bd party back a few days so that your mom and dad could make it?
