well finally my babies got their first shots and it was terrible....they screamed all afternoon and they both were only happy in the cradle hold and I'm sorry but I haven't figured out how to cradle hold two babies at one time.

It is tough, did you ask about tylenol? I know they are so little but really may just help take the edge off if nothing else. We still give it while we are in the waiting room at a shot appointment so it kicks in by the time they feel the results. Hugs to you,

Sugar water! I don't know who suggested it, but wow! We give a little, maybe 3 ounces each in a bottle about ten minutes before the shots. Only once we didn't do it and the results were as you described. I would research it though if you are interested. I am just here to tell you it works for us!!!

That's what they give in the hospital....I know before they circumsised my son and before drawing blood they did that but I figured the tylenol would help too but it didn't help much if any

The Dr.s at Children's Hospital LA told me the little tubs of sugar water work as well as narcotics on small babies. I believe we used "Sweet Ease". You might look up the concentration and give it a shot (no pun intended).

My other suggestion is to sit on your floor or on your bed and put baby "A" on the bottom in your arms and baby "B" on the top in your arms and sway, sway, sway.... did that make sense? You can hold them both, I promise! Shots stink.

 i hated the two month shots! and now the four month are only a couple weeks away - i told my husband he had to take them for those shots because i didn't think i could handle it again so soon, but unfortunately we weren't able to book it at a time when he wasn't working. :(

A lady on there use to use big pillow, lay them both on it and hold them upright on her chest (I know its not cradle hold) but it did work for us sometimes to comfort fussy babies!
Shots suck, I am bfing and that was the only thing that got them through their 4months shots without constant fussing and screaming! We got home, I latched them on and they fed and then they both fell asleep on me bfing, so i left them there and sat on the couch with them not moving while they slept for like 2.5hrs! Good thing I went to the bathroom first!

I always try and have help around for their shots. When I took them for their 6mnth shots though, I gave them tyelenol before hand and they seemed to do fine afterwards, do crying or fussing that day. So it does get better!

    Shots are HORRIBLE!

I'm so sorry you and your babies are having such a tough time. I think most babies are pretty fussy afterwards, so know that you are not alone. Hopefully they are feeling better today!

Hey Brandy. Mine just got their 4 month shots yesterday. Stefan only cried for a few minutes, but Molly cried for a steady 30 minutes. I am sorry yours had such a rough time. I always give mine tylenol about an hour before hand. That way it's already in their system. I had never heard of the sugar water, but we will be trying that next time. Hope they feel better today. Keep a steady tylenol going if you need to. Also, you can let them play in the tub if they like that. They warm water helps with knots and sore legs!
