Wouldn't size 3 be a bit too big already? Their only 8/9 lbs..

Are the ones you have too big? Newborn size Pampers go to 10 lbs.

newborn size pampers go up to 10 pounds? My girls weigh 13 pounds but have to take a size 3 or else they will leak through. I like the diaper to be above their belly button, once the diaper is starting to be the same height as their belly button or lower then I think it is starting to be too small, and my girls have long torsos with short legs.

A size up from 1/2 is 2. I always went up a size when the girls consistently start leaking. GL!

I agree....I like Pampers over Huggies. We've seen less leaks in them.

Huggies size 1-2 is bigger then a 1 but smaller then a 2. It took me a while to figure that out. If your babies are leaking bump them up to a size 2 in Huggies. Also, they might fit into a size 3 quicker then you think. With both my sons I noticed I would have to put them in the next size up even when they were a few pounds shy of the weight on the box of diapers. My boys always leak out the top of the diaper, and the bigger size would catch everything.

My boys are in a size 3 and have been for a couple of months now- I was surprised at how quickly they went up in sizes. I always found that going up a size helped with the leaks and I've always had good luck with pampers, though the huggies overnites worked well too (though I think they start in size 3) Good luck- I know I don't need extra laundry on top of caring for twins!!

Never had a leaky diaper with Swaddlers, except at night, but just recently and our boys are 10 months now. We added Huggies Overnite diapers just for bedtime and haven't had a problem since.

I would try switching to Pampers Swaddlers...they cost a bit more, but are well worth it! I coudln't use Huggies with my girls until they reached size 4...even then I had to put Huggies Overnights (size 5) on them to not leak. Every other size leaked o nthem.

Ooohhhh...when you mentioned leaking...and that you had boys...AND you were using Huggies-I had to reply! We had the same problem when they were little. We did a diaper raffle for our shower-so we used whatever diapers we had. And we came to the conclusion that we HATED Huggies! Seriously-3 times a day we were changing clothes! It was nuts! Definitely switch. I too recommend Pampers Swaddlers. They hold so much more. We even like the Costco brand too. Once the boys got a little bigger-the Huggies weren't as bad. But I still prefer Pampers.

for us, the pampers and the huggies both leaked alot...we use parents choice (walmart) and it has been great, we have still had some leakage but not too much!!

My DS always leaked through the huggies so we did pampers swaddlers and never had a problem. Now we use the target brand and he only leaks out sometimes overnight. We use the diaper doubler and that fixed that right a way.

We are using Pampers and Huggies. Pampers for Lucas and Huggies for Dillon. Seem to have cut down on leaks as we have figured out what diaper works best for each. Once out of newborn size, not sure what we will use.

Very early on (three weeks old) I learned that I had to point my son's private down and our leaks stopped!

We haven't had issues with leaks since they were a month old. I still think you may want to try a size down. I was still using newborns when my boys weighed that much. I also found that we leaked out the sides when it did happen. It makes sense to me that if it's leaking out the sides, it's not because it's full, just not fitting correctly. I would try Pampers (they are a little cheaper at Target). We also found we like the Pampers Baby Dry. Hope this helps!

I, like many of the pps, had to respond when I heard two boys, huggies and leaks. I say switch to the Pampers Swaddlers...loved them at that age and had no leaks. At that age, you want to make sure the diapers comes up enough in front but doesn't leave big gaps at the legs. I'd say you may need to try the straight size 1 or even a newborn. Mine were in newborn until they were about 7/8 weeks old and then we did size 1. When they started leaking out of the size 1, we moved to the 1-2 and then to the 2.

The Swaddlers cost more but you don't have to keep them in Swaddlers forever, but for early months (for us up to about 6 months), Swaddlers were the only ones for us...plus I think they fit the "slender" babies a little better than Huggies...Huggies seemed to be a "fuller" sized diaper, if that makes sense.

We had to stop using Huggies for this very reason. It seemed like as soon as I put it on them, they're pee pee once and it would be all up their side or up their front. They've been using Pampers Swaddlers and I'm so upset that they stop at size 2/3!!! We've recently found that Wal-Marts White Cloud (if you have one near you) seem to work just fine and they're much cheaper than Pampers. I was a little leary about using off brand diapers because they are a little sensative but I haven't found it to be too much of a problem.
