Firstly, I'm so sorry that I don't post that often anymore. I read the posts but am too tired to post especially after having to deal with reflux and feeding issues. DS1 has had bad reflux and bottle feeding aversion from the very beginning and hav been placed on prevacid (very high dose), and alimentum (breaking our bank). We have good and bad days but mostly bad. He is still PUKING and REFUSING TO EAT at almost 12 months. We go to a STUPID feeding therapy since 9 months and STILL NOTHING IS HAPPENING. I've STORMED the heavens with prayers but still NOTHING. I've been putting off having him go through endoscopy but I think now I will push the docs to do it. It's a NIGHTMARE to feed him. It's like all the aversions he had with the bottle has moved towards aversion to anything less than pureed. I feel like I'm feeding a geriatric patient! I'M SO SICK AND TIRED OF THIS...I WANT OUT! Really I do. I'm just plain tired and hopeless. I envy those who have outgrown reflux before a year. I used to pray so hard that we will but now I just don't want to expect anything anymore. I don't think we'll ever will. I think my son will be on prevacid for th rest of his life not to mention eating pureed food and alimentum during his wedding reception.

    Thanks for letting me VENT.

:hug99: I am right there with you, feeding therapy and all. You are not alone!! My DS is 10 months and we still are having exactly the same issues as you and there is no light at the end of the tunnel yet to be seen! It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying and I cry and pray and beg for all this to disappear. He even gags and pukes on purees. It is so upsetting and sad. Feeding therapy gets us no where too. I'd say 90% days are bad, 10% just OK. He's on Good Start, though....Seems to do better than Alimentum for him.

I hope we can put this behind us soon....I just wanted to let you know that you are certainly NOT alone in this. I wish you the best of luck :hug99:

I'm so sorry, sounds incredibly frustrating. My girls had reflux but not nearly as bad - and yes, the alimentum broke the bank and we didnt' start formula feeding til 7 months. I do know that whenever i go to the pediatrician i get samples and since i have a good relationship with the nurses they are very generous. I've also heard that if you contact your pedi's Similac rep and tell them you have twins taht they will give you a case. We have not done that but - it all helps. There are also places online where it' s much less expensive than retaiil stores; i will ask my DH where we order from

Other than that i only have hugs to offer; sorry it is so difficult for you. They are likely to outgrow it, though, so you probably won't have to worry about alimentum spit up on your MOG (mother of the groom) dress!

Oh Marie! I am so sorry to hear that you are still having such awful feeding problems! :hug99: I would DEFINITELY get to a ped GI for the endoscopy, ASAP! I know that many people are freaked out by it, but I think that we would have been in the same boat if it weren't for Reglan. It truly made a HUGE difference in my babies, with no side effects besides babies that actually WANTED to eat!

I'm so sorry you are still going through this, call the doc today! :love0028:

I'm sorry to diappoint you by saying this, but my girls were on Previcid until they were 2.5 years old. I do understand what you are going through and how challenging it is! FYI- Previcid is a medication that will not stop the puking. What this medication does is help with the damage that the reflux causes. So, it's not surprising that your son is still puking. But, is he more comfortable then when he's not taking it? If he is still uncomfortable, talk to your ped. about trying something new.

Also, try to take it slow and easy with the solids. Some kids just need more time. If you are feeling extremely frutrated, imagine how he must feel. This is so foreign to him, and he doesn't know any better. What I've done in the past is take a break from "real" food, continue with the gereatric purees ( :icon_biggrin: ), and try again in a few weeks. It wii get better!

:hug99: I'm so sorry you are still dealing with reflux. I know how incredibly frustrating it is. I would definately call your doctor and schedule the endoscopy. My DS had reflux and didn't get onto table foods until he was 17 months, so I was feeling the same way as you thinking he'd be on baby food forever. :hug99: We are here for you, Vent away Momma, vent away! :love0028:
