I'M PREGNANT

ON FRIDAY WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK I SUDDENLY COULD SMELL A MANGO AND TASTE IT. IT WAS REAL IT FELT AS THOUGH I HAD JUST EATEN ONE. I IGNORED THE FEELING AND WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I WENT OUT FOR DINNER I REALIZED THAT ALL I REALLY WANTED WAS FRUIT. AGAIN I IGNORED IT THINKING NOTHING OF THE EXPERIENCE. THE FOLLOWING MORNING, SATURDAY, I WOKE FEELING A LITTLE BIT NAUSEATED AND DIZZY AND I WANTED TO TAKE A PREGNANCY TEST BUT MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE SHOWER AND I JUST PUT THE THOUGHT OUT OF MY MIND. THE WHOLE DAY WENT BY AND I FELT FINE. THEN AROUND 9 PM I NOTICED THAT MY TWIN GIRLS, SARAH AND MARIAH, WERE CONSTANTLY TOUCHING MY STOMACH AND RUBBING IT SO GENTLY. I FINALLY GOT UP AND DID THE HOME PREGNANCY TEST. SOON AFTER I LAID BACK DOWN WITH MY GIRLS AND CONTINUED WATCHING TELEVISION. ABOUT TEN MINUTES LATER I WENT INTO THE BATHROOM TO PEE FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME THAT DAY AND AS I GLANCED OVER THE COUNTER I SAW THE PLUS SIGN. I WAS IN SHOCK. I CALLED MY BEST FRIEND PRISSY FIRST AND SCREAMED THE NEWS TO HER. I TOLD MY HUSBAND TEN MINUTES LATER WHEN HE GOT HOME FROM WORK AND HE WAS SO HAPPY. THAT SAME NIGHT WE TOLD MY IN LAWS CAUSE THEY HAD GONE OVER TO VISIT ONLY TEN MINUTES AFTER I HAD TOLD MY HUSBAND. THEN ON SUNDAY I WOKE UP THINKING "OMG WHAT IF THEY ARE TWINS?" MY FIRST SET OF TWINS HAPPENED NATURALLY IT WAS A TOTAL SURPRISE. SO WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF ME HAVING TWINS AGAIN. MY OLDEST DAUGHTER IS A SINGLETON SO CAN I HAVE TWINS AGAIN???? HAVE ANY OF YOU EVER HAD MULTPLES IN CONSECUTIVE ORDER. I HAVE MY FIRST DOCTORS APPNT THIS AFTERNOON AND I'M NERVOUS. I'M PROBABLY ABOUT FOUR OR FIVE WEEKS.

 

From the research Ive done it would mainly depend on whether your first set was ID or FRAT. If they are ID there is a possibility, but there's really no telling what the chances are of having another set. Fraternal twins come from the mother having a gene that causes her to drop more than one egg during her cycle, so they say once you have a set of Frats, you have about a 1 in 14 chance of having another. (I think thats what the numbers were; I havent checked in a while)

Not to be a downer, but did you take another test? Because most (if not all HPTs) say that after a few minutes the reading may not be accurate. You said you waited about 10 minutes before you saw it.

Yikes, that percentage is a little high for my personal tastes!!

 

yeah, after 10 min you can get a false positive... at least that's what I told myself 3 wks ago... waited another week and had a real positive. lol. At 5.5 wks my dr. said he could not tell if I was having twins again.... I go back monday. holding my breath till then. lol. Good luck to you!

I had 4 sets in a row. Only two setssurvived. So yes its possible to have consecutive sets with no meds. The twins were my 5, 6, 7, & 8th pregnancy at ages 28, 33, 33, and 35.
