Hi! I have a beautiful little boy (18months) and when we found out we were expecting again in June, we were thrilled but a little nervous about having 2 under 2. Well, imagine my surprise when I had my 18 week ultrasound and found out we were having twin boys! (di/di). We were in complete shock for about 3 weeks but we have gradually become more excited and less scared :) Anyway, I am a teacher in Ontario, Canada and have been ordered off work by my OB as of today (I'm 25 weeks). Fortunately I'm not on any sort of bedrest, but I have a resting heartrate of 110-125 most days and I alsways feel like I've just run a marathon. My doc said it's because i'm fuelling blood to 2 placentas. Anyobe else have a high heartrate? My first babe was a preemie (36 weeks), so I'm terrified that these little guys will be early. I will do anything to have them stay in for 36+ weeks to avoid the NICU and tubes and wires and lots of tears...

No real point to this post, just have been lurking for a week or so now and am very impressed with the advice and stories, so thought I'd join.

    Thanks!

Congrats on your boys! My oldest was JUST 2 when I had his twin brothers. I never had to deal with the fast HR, but I was on meds to control contractions which had a side effect of slowing down your heart, which is what happened to me. The girls here are great!

:welcome: to TS and congrats on your twin pregnancy!! We are glad you are here!
Every pregnancy is different so just because your son was born early doesnt mean that this pregnancy will be the same. I think its good you are off work and I think that using that time to rest is the best idea. Good luck and keep us posted!

:welcome: to TS! I didn't have a fast HR either, but definitely felt like I was running a marathon daily just to gestate. I do notice that when I'm anemic I get winded faster- has your iron been checked recently?

Congrats! My twins were 13.5 months when their little sister was born. And the three are best of friends. My resting heart rate for my twin pregnancy was around 110-118. I hope your boys stay put for no NICU time too. Just so you know, maybe you do, but your di/di boys can still be identical. Ours were! We had their DNA tested since there were two placentas.

My son will be 3.5 yr old when his twin brothers are born. I have a resting HR of 110+ and have been bugging doctor on this. My OB doesn't seem to be concerned much about it.

I will be 33 weeks this Friday and still working. Welcome to TS!
