Hi! I am Mel and I am currently 31w6d with twin boys. I know I am sayig hello late, but I am thankful to have found this site a few months ago and it has been so nice to read. I tend to be a worrier and it was nice to see the nicu times with the gestational ages... I looked at that almost every
week. Lol. This seems like a great forum and I look forward to talking with you. I really need all the help I can get-- this is my first pregnancy and man is it getting dificult. I am lucky to not have any complications so far, and my dr thinks I have a boring pregnancy :) not to me! I can barely sleep cause my hips and my lady parts hurt SO bad. But I am getting close and getting equally scared and excited. I am scared of not knowing what is going to happen ad scared of the pain, honestly. I'm sure most women are so I just concentrate on my two little men that I get to meet so soon :)

Hi Mel ~ I've been around a few months, but not very active on the posts - have learned so much from the other ladies on here. I'm close to you in gestation ...30 weeks pregnant today with b/g twins. I'm an elderly mom - I have a 16 y/o and a 19 y/o! :) One of the things that has always helped me when thinking of labor pain, is that many cultures do not experience "pain" with delivery in the same sense that we do. They've not been exposed to all the fear that causes us to be so tense. Not that I can have a natural home birth with my age and the risks involved with twins, but it has been so encouraging to read online of so many women who relax and have babies in calm circumstances. It reminds me how important it is to relax. I sure will say a prayer for you to have a smooth, relaxed delivery. You've done a great job keeping them inside of you! Keep up the good work!

Congratulations! I hope you can make it as long as possible, and avoid NICU! Our twins are our first children as well and I had no idea what to expect either. I hate to sound like a cliche, but they will be here before you know it, try to enjoy the last part of your pregnancy, it goes really fast. Good luck and welcome to Twinstuff.

Welcome! I'm not quite where you are but already trying to do everything I can to keep my girls in so that they have little or no NICU time. The women here are sooooo supportive and knowledgable!

Hi there, My name is Lisa and my partner and I have just found out that we are having twins!!! My partner is 8 weeks and is just exhausted by the time she gets home at night. I've taken over all of the cooking and most of the cleaning duties so she can just relax when she gets home but I just wanted to ask if anyone can give me more advice on other things that I can do to make this time as easy and enjoyable for her as possible. I am also wondering if anyone can give me advice on cots. I was under the impression that the SIDS organisation suggests that babies do not share a cot but since I've started looking into info on twin pregnancies I've found that some parents suggest having the babies in the same cot. Any advice?
    Thanks
    Lisa

Congrats and welcome to TS! As for being afraid of the pain, when you are in that moment, it really is the FURTHEST thing from your mind.

Welcome. I am 31 weeks so we should be about the same. I am having 2 girls this round though. Stick around, this place has great advie and even more important, people who have BTDT and understand when you need to vent.

    Hi & welcome!!!

As to your questions, I think you are on the right track with letting her rest as much as she needs and cooking. I'd sleep on the couch until DH brought over a plate then sleep some more right after. as she gets bigger, chiropractics and pregnancy massage are invaluable.

SIDS is a risk, which can be mitigated through a variety of factors - no smoking, a fan on, sleeping on their backs, no blankets or uber loose blankies, breast-feeding, sharing a room, using a Pacifier. There have been studies which show that twins who sleep together have better breathing and heartrates- that's what I went by and figured if I did everything else I was doing ok. That said, mine hated cosleeping so it wasn't an issue.
