    :welcome: to the First Year.

Have you tried gradually increasing the time between bottles in say, 15 min increments? It is possible that they may not be ready at 5 months to go to 4 hours. I dont think mine went to 4 hours between bottles until about 9-10 months old, once we were doing some solids too.

Welcome to TS. My girls still don't go more than 3 hours between feedings. Hang in there. It will keep getting easier.

    Welcome,

My babies have also been on a 3 hour schedule, but I struggle to get them to eat. I've also been trying to get them on a consistant 4 hour, but it would mean dropping a bottle, which I'm not comfortable with yet. My DD is a light weight and I'm concerned that she is not taking in enough. They also sleep through the night so they skip a bottles there.

Right now we do 3 to 4 hours between feeds. As they others mentioned, try stretching the time and increase the amount you feed. That may help. I can't follow my own advice because I'm struggle to get them to take in what they are at now.

    Hugs,

Welcome! Mine were about 2 months premature as well, and we are currently on a 4 hour schedule, approximately. I didn't do anything to get here, just followed their cues, so it'll come around.

    Hi and Welcome!!!
so glad to have you join us! :)
Like the pp's have mentioned - just follow your babies cues... and it will happen.. they just might not be quite ready yet (although you're ready for them to be! LOL)

Hello and :welcome: to First Year! I also say try gradually increasing the time between eating. I would stretch it in 15 minute increments until you get to every 4 hours or so.

    Hi and welcome!
Sounds like you're doing a good job. None of my babes went for 4 hours until well into solids so don't worry about it! If they are happy and drinking then it will come naturally.

    Welcome to the first year!!!
Mine are 10 months old and we still have not gone 3 hours between feedings, though we have dropped a bottle.

Welcome! My babies eat every 3 to 3.5 hours. I tried for the four hour feeding but they are having none of it!

Hi and :welcome: to twinstuff! My 2 were also 2 months early and By the time they were out of the hospital (4 weeks old) they were on a 4 hour schedule. The nurses just pushed it back by about 15 mins each couple of days and because they were happy, content and gaining weight we kept them on that schedule. But every baby is different and they may just not be ready to start eating every 4 hours x
