I'm new here

Hi! My name is Peri and i've been reading on this forum for a few weeks. I am 34 years old, married to Terry for 14 years and we have an 11 year old daughter Ali. We've been TTC for about 5 years now. Long story short i couldn't conceive because of my weight. I had lapband May 2008 and April 13, 2009 I found out I was pregnant! I was totally shocked and excited. I had a month to wait before I saw my OB. during that time i kept having thoughts of twins and just strange feelings that It was twins. My clothes started feeling tighter and I knew it was too soon. ON mother's day at church they passed out rose buds to all the mothers and mine had 2 on it. All my friends joked about that being a sign from God that we were having twins. I just laughed and told them they were crazy. I did keep it though! Anyway on May 13 I had my Dr. appointment and they do an ultrasound 1st thing. The tech immediately said "there's 2 babies!" I was shocked! All I could say all day was "Oh my gosh" over and over again. Anyway, we are adjusted to the news a little better now and couldn't be happier. God truly blesses! My ob said i'm high risk because i had toxemia with my previous pregnancy and i'll be 35 when I deliver. So far my blood pressure is doing great. I'll go monday to see a specialist and have a level 2 ultrasound (whatever that is!) I'll keep you updated. Glad to have found this site!

 

That's exciting news!!! CONGRATS!!! I was at church even before I was pregnant and two people from the church came up to me (at different times) and said, "Twins next time!" I was like yeah whatever, there are no twins in my family. Well they were right! God is really amazing! The two buds thing was cool!

Hi Peri! Congrats! I too will be 35 when I deliver! So far, no complications other than major discomfort and a HUGE belly! LOL. Good luck to you!

I had my appointment with the specialist yesterday and everything went fine. He said my twins were di/di so we were very glad about that. I'm hoping they're a boy and a girl, but we'll see! Still too soon to tell what they are yet. He changed some of my meds up and i'm scheduled to see him again in 6 weeks. I'll see my regular ob in 2 weeks. The level 2 ultrasound was o.k. it wasn't a lot different than the ones i normally get except that you could see a little more up close and a little more detail. Can't wait till the next one!
