I'm new :) And 30 weeks pregnant with twins

Hi all!

I live in bc canada, and i have a 2 and a half year old son, and my husband and I are expecting b/g twins!! I am told by my obstetrician i wont go past the first week of may (37 weeks). I have two days of work left wuwho!!! I'm feeling big, and my back just kills, hehe but that's pregnancy for yah.

Any of you due around the same time as me?? I look forward to talkin with other moms carrying/have had twins! I have lots of help for the first month or so after I have the twins ... Any advice??

They are an excellent place to have daily chit chat with other mom's that are expecting twins around the same time that you are.

Thanks!! Yes, i am having a girl and a boy. Hailee, and Logan .. I think right now i'm just worried about the labour part. With my son I was induced because i all of a sudden had high blood pressure at 37 weeks and they did an ultrasound and found out he was really small. So 4 hours of inducing, and 2 pushes in 8 min. and he was out weighing 4lb 11oz.

So this pregnancy i have had high blood pressure the whole time, the past few months it's been just border line...so I see the obstetrician next week to talk about dates for delivery. I know i will most likley be a scheduled c-sec. which kinda freaks me out. But as long as they are out and okay right?? I have my ultrasound on wed. i can't wait to see how big they are!!! My ultrasound at 24 weeks they were over 2lbs each!! So hoping they will be good sizes.

 

any advice for the first few months of having newborn twins? hehe

Hi I am Heather and we are expection b/g twins in May as well. I will hopefully go to 38 weeks which will put me in the second week of May so it sounds like we are due about the same time. My twins names are Isabella and Jackson. We also have a 12 year old son. Congratulations and welcome to TS.

oh wow! That's awesome! Congrats! THose are gorgeous names.. How are you feeling ?? I am feeling like i've come to a point where i'm not growing anymore the past couple weeks....

HI, Congrats & Welcome!!

I'm 29 weeks along with b/g twins. My doctor's told me that my due date is June 5th.. No way will I make it that far! Mid May (maybe end of April) will be it for me I think... There are some threads at this site about c-sections. I'm not opposed to having a c. My twin sister has had 3 children. 2 of them were by c. It helps knowing how she recovered and to see first hand how things went. Our mother also had us kids all by c-sec. I understand that this could be hereditary. So, I have a feeling that I'll go C. I think as long as you know what to expect it won't be so bad. I think I'm more scared having the twins naturally!!! I can't imagine 2 babies & a plecenta (or 2)!!!! I know that my sis was in labor for 19 hours before having her first c-sec. And with second, v-bac... she was in labor for 22 hours... I can't imagine going for that long.... that's just my opinion tho!!!! Good Luck!!

Congrats!!! I found Twinstuff later on in my twin pregnancy as well. I sure wish I would have known about TS before then. Oh well...everyone here has been so helpful and wonderful. Will your husband be taking any parental leave? My DH did, this was the first time he took parental leave. It was awesome. He was home for 35 weeks. I'm glad you have help for the first month. The twins were my first c-section. They were born at 37w3d and were 6lbs. 14oz and 7lbs 11oz. and came home with me. Recovery was hard, I got two infections in my incision, hopefully if you have a c-section yours will go smooth.

Congrats again. I love their names!!!

thanks so much! My hubby will take maybe a few days off. My mom is coming to stay with me for a month, and my inlaws are taking a month off as well! So i do have lots of help , and i will need it. Those are great sizes to be born at! I hope mine are as big as yours! I am a bit nervous about recovery afterwards... i have never had surgery before hehe.

How are you finding being a mommy of twins?
