i am in the birthing pavilion with a cervix ripening pill inserted now. i am 37 w 2 days and was having symptoms of cholostasis which preliminary results were positive for. also today they found indications ofpre-eclempsia coming on. very mild. mostly the elevated liver functions and protein in urine and lowered blood platelettes.

i wanted to update you all as i have been reporting in.

i hope things go smoothly. this was not what we expected but i am fine with things today. my husband is with me and he is ready and very excited. i am in good hands here. they have been explaining everything and i think i understand it all. we have about 4 hours for this pill to work and then they will check cervix to see if we need more ripening before the pitosin. (sorry for spelling errors).

wish me luck. we have time so i will update. thank you all for your support.

I thought I would post an update. Still in hospital but leaving today. The boys are absolutely wonderful and precious Baby A(Miles) 7lbs 1 oz. and baby B (Noah) was 5.5lbs..

There is a long story with several attempted interventions that I could and will tell you about later if interested but the short story is that more than 24 hours after starting the pitosin drip (along with Magnesium sulfate for the Pre-Eclempia) I failed to progress beyond 5 centimeters. We delivered by C-Section at 7:23 and 7:25 on Tuesday night, June 24th.

It was wonderful although not what we planned or expected. Hearing those babies cry and seeing my husbands joy was spectacular. It has been so much fun taking care of the babies in the hospital so far. Although the sugery recovery is more difficult than I could have imagined and I did not leave the bed but 2 times a day for a short trip to clean up in the bathroom for the first two days. The babies have been in the room the whole time and my husband as well sleeping on a pull out sofa. We are all together and everyone happy and secure as we set off on our new life..
