Ok, yes I know there are TWO babies in there and I will get bigger. But I'm almost 24 weeks and I look almost full term! I looke like I'm maybe 35 weeks or so. So far, I'm all belly. If you were to see me from the back, you wouldn't know I'm pregnant! Also, I have been walking at night, normally between 1-2 miles a night. Sometimes I skip a night. Well, I went to see the OB on Friday and I had gained almost 7 pounds in 10 days! It just seemed crazy high compared to how I'd been gaining the weight before. I thought the walks would help. I just wonder if I'm gaining too fast, even for a twin pg. Is it possible this was just a major growth spurt? Maybe I'll stay around this size for a while before getting even bigger? I've gained around 25ish pounds so far. Maybe I should post a pic?

I was looking at pictures of women pregnant with twins. I don't remember what website it was, I just googled it. Some looked HUGE! I mean the belly. Not the woman entirely. And some looked like it was just a singleton pregnancy. I'm worried about how big I'll get, not just for vanity reasons but physically. Like if I'll struggle to do anything physical.

I noticed that I tended to have growth spurts some weeks compared to others. I know I went a month without gaining any weight, even lost 2 lbs, went back 2.5 weeks later and I was up 10lbs! That was just before 24 weeks.

I got BIG fast with my twins. I looked full term by the time I was 5 months along. I gained nearly 100 lbs by the time I was 34 weeks.

Ok, I too went the month before and didn't gain any weight at all in an entire month. Then after that is when I gained a ton at once. I'm just going to keep up with my walks and try to eat as healthy as I can.

It's very normal. And every woman will have a different type of "normal" for any pregnancy.

I too looked full term when i was only half way along, and I only gained 28 lbs total over the whole pregnancy. But I still came out at 36 wks with a 6.4 lb boy and a 7.2 lb girl. Towards the end you will slow down physically out of necessity, most women do, so if you are enjoying walking and are still able to do it now, by all means continue! But if it gets to be too much, just walk less or stop if you have to. Try not to worry about what happens after ;) Eat fairly healthy, exercise if you can, and let those babies grow

I've had appointments with flucuating weight gains. I had a huge jump around 22 weeks. I think it's normal and I wouldn't put to much emphasis on it. Enjoy the walking and the health benefits you get out of it. I've managed to stay active but have noticed I am starting to have very tiring days now and I'm only at 26 weeks. Total gain for me so far has been about 23 lbs but my belly is very large too but not everything else (yet).

with my first set, i went to 14 weeks with NO weight gain. then, from 14-23 weeks, i gained like 20 lbs. it was ridiculous. this time around, i'm only 9w 3d, and i've already gained 4 lbs. and i'm looking like 16 weeks or so. but these are my 6th and 7th, so my uterus is SHOT anyway. i figured i'd show really early.

I gained 17lbs in my first trimester!! The beginning of my second I had some steady weight gain but by the end of the second and into the third, I have had the opposite problem. I lost 2.2 lbs and am having a harder time putting the weight on. My target from the ob is 45-50lbs and so far with 4.5 weeks left to go I am up 36lbs.

Hang in there and don't worry it is amazing how much it can change.

I'm 25 weeks and I've probably gained 25-27 lbs. I'm not sure how I compare to a regular pregnancy honestly although I do know people look surprised when they hear my due date is in February lol! I do worry about getting so big that it will be hard to do things eventually too, but I figure I'll cross that hurdle when/if it comes. Right now stairs are my biggest nemesis.. and my afternoon walks at work are getting really tiring (and they are only maybe .5 mile). Walking is good for you, I'm guessing the babies are just having a good week

I bet it's a growth spurt-I didn't gain any weight for 5+ weeks, and then put on 5 lbs the following week. I also noticed that sometimes you are gaining more fluid than weight. There are days when I am so thirsty, food isn't appealing at all and the next day I may be 2lbs heavier. It evens out over the course of the week though.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, ladies. Today we went trick-or-treating and I feel soooooooo exhausted and sore from walking to the houses, and we really didn't walk that much! It's just one of those days I guess. I'm going to try my best and keep up with the walks until I feel I'm just too tired to do it. I even wanted to throw in some other work-outs. I need to get my butt to the library to check out some pregnancy work-out dvds!

Tobaira-I too get looks sometimes when I tell people I'm not due til February! They look at me like, "really!?" And then I've also had some comments that I don't look THAT big. That comforts me a bit. :)
