Okay, the good news first---me and both girls look great. BP, urine, weight gain, all perfect--passed the 1hr glucose!

The girls are growing perfectly; A is 3lbs4oz, B is 3lbs2oz--fluids and cervix and everything great! Trust me, for all this I am grateful!

But I have one major concern.....they've flipped from both vertex (they had been that way for about 6 weeks) to A breech and B transverse! I'm so upset.....what if they don't flip back.....the possibility of a csection just slapped me square in the face!!!! I've never really taken the possibility seriously. I have had two EASY, EASY vaginal delivers and when these girls got in their head down position and seemed to be comfy that way I got way too optimistic that they would stay.........

Can they still flip? Need a pep-talk.....I don't think my BP is so good anymore!

Sometimes it is not so easy for one to stay head down, so for two... even more of a challenge.

Remember IF you do have a c-section, it won't be the worst thing to ever happen to you. :hug99:

Wow, I'm impressed that yours are still changing positions at this point. Mine were one breech, one vertex at my first ultrasound at 20 weeks which is also when I first found out I was having twins. When I saw my doctor after that I asked him if it was possible for them to change positions and he told me that there likely wasn't enough room for that to happen at that point and he was right, they never moved from breech/vertex.

Don't get discouraged though. Anything can happen, but the further along you get and the more crowded it gets in there, the less likely it is that they will be able to move. But the transverse baby may surprise you, and if I were you and you get one head down having already had two vaginal deliveries I would definitely try for another vaginal delivery.

Good luck and try not to worry.

Don't sweat it. Like the PP said - not the worst thing in the world. You just need healthy babies. And I had one vertex and one breech and the breech one just flipped 2 weeks ago - so there's definitely still time. My OB's seen them switch right before delivery, too. try not to worry about it.

glad to hear that all is well with your appt. - ironically, mine are both head down which doesnt matter b/c i will be having a c-section anyway...hang in there and hopefully they will find that head down was more confy for them!

Both mine were head down from day 1, both lying on my pelvis which wasnt very comfortable. When i went into PTL @ 32.4 weeks baby b had flipped and was breech, i hadnt even noticed!! So they can flip anytime even later on in the pregnancy. I will keep my fingers crossed for you! x

Oh yes they can still flip!! my girls were head down at 36 wks my drs told us that there was no chance they would flip at that point - well at 4 days before they were born - guess what! baby A was breech and baby B was transverse!! so that ment a c-section for me. you will not know 100% how they will be turned until the last minute! even as cramped as you may think they are the little acrobats have a way of moving all around!! good luck!!!

Allison was head up at the 32 week ultrasound. She was head down at the 36 week ultrasound! I have no idea how she did it - there was NO room!

Mine still seem to change position on a daily basis. At my 27w6d u/s with the peri, A was head down and B was transverse. Yesterday at 28w4d, both were breech and crossed over the top of each other like a big X. I was wondering how my belly seemed to grow almost 2 inches over night....

I wouldn't sweat it too much. Like others have said, babies can change position right up to hours before delivery. I do not see how they can without room, but they do it. Remember this when you can't keep one or both of them swaddled ;)

I have to admit, I have been sweating the same thing for the past month. Baby A decided to flip breech around 28 weeks and has not budged since (I am 36.4 weeks). I would say being "slapped in the face" with the idea of a c-section is a great way to describe it. I feel like such a ninny as I have perfectly healthy babies cooking inside of me and my preganancy has been fabulous yet, here I am, mourning a c-section pretty much everyday. I hate it, it makes me angry and no matter how many people try to make me feel better about it ...i.e. your babies won't have coneheads, no hemroids, etc... I don't really want to hear it. I am sure I will get over it and just be glad to meet my babies but I am really just being honest about how I feel.

That being said, my OB did say she had a woman 38 wks. with twins whose flipped the day before her delivery. She also said mine aren't going anywhere as there is no room and the look too comfortable. GREAT...

sorry for stealing your vent, but my point is, I hear what you are saying and I have heard they can flip. Nonetheless, it is what it is.

At 35 weeks my boy flipped from vertex to breech...and then by 36 weeks he was back to vertex. I had a great vaginal delivery, though I too was convinced I'd end up with a c/s. Being faced with that possibility for reals made me realize it wasn't the end of the world, and I would have been ok with it. I know how you feel though--when the reality hit me, it was really unnerving. You will do great no matter what happens!

Jen...I am in the same canoe as you! Both my girls were vertex for quite a while, then at around 29-30 weeks...both were breech! I was really starting to freak out too, because I really don't want to have a c-sec. after having 2 vag births. Well at my 34 week appointment both were heading in the right direction....although now I am not to sure, I have seen alot of flipping around lately, so they might be breech again. I have noticed though that if one flips the other tries to do the same thing.
I go for my next dr. appoint. thursday...and we'll see what they are like. Then I have an U/S next tues. so I hope they both are vertex then (i'll be 36 weeks).

Your babies still have time to flip...but try to prepare yourself mentally for taking on the c-sec. if you think it might be a possibility. I try to prepare for the worst...and when the worst doesn't happen, i am happy....cause anything is better really.

My dd flipped at 34 weeks from vertex to transverse...so I suppose the opposite could happen too...my ds was transverse/breech the whole time... Will they let you go for vag with just baby A vertex??...mine were willing, so I was set for a vag until she went transverse!! oh well...the c/s wasn't as horrible as what everyone says. It was okay...not fun...but neither is a regular delivery! And the point that I was sincerely consoled in is the fact that my babies were born healthy... change your frame of mind...b/c open to the possibility of c/s..stressing over it will not make your babies flip... and becoming open to the c/s possibility will reduce your depression and risk for blues over the whole thing... Life isn't always ideal... but if you accept that your response can be a lot better than someone who goes crying into the O.R. room.... I was so thankful that I got to experience a vaginal delivery with my first dd... I think it made me realize that women with c/s aren't missing some earth shattering thing... I felt way more instant bonding with my c/s twins than I did with my vaginal dd... HTH....

Thanks ladies! My perspective on this is better today. First, I realize baby A can still turn (baby B not so much of a concern as doc will do vag if baby A is vertex only). Second, a "planned" csection beats lots of other scenarios. For some reason I had resolved in my mind that an emergency csection was okay because it was "necessary"; but really in terms of mental preparedness, wouldn't I rather have a planned csection? Of course! Wouldn't I rather have a planned csection than deliver one vag and then one csection? Of course!

So anyway, today I'm feeling much more at peace with the possibility. Hormones sure can make me irrational at times! (Don't tell DH I'm admitting this!!!!!)

My boys flipped multiple times a day at about 33 weeks A stayed head down but only because he engaged...baby B flipped even during labor...we had a successful vag delivery for both of them induced at 36 weeks 4 days. I was told they were able move so much because they had very good fluid levels. Yours still have time to move...good luck.
