My little sister had her baby last Friday at almost 41 weeks. He was 8lbs. 7 oz. and just too cute. Her labor and delivery was easy and she is healing super well... problem is, now I am getting a bit nervous about mine.

I am going to be a single mom so I know this is all going to be difficult, but in my mind I don't think I realize how difficult it will actually be. I am so excited and feel very blessed that I am having my twins, but I am nervous. How am I going to do this? I do have planty of friends and family that are more than willing to help out but in the end, it's all up to me and I guess the thought of it is just a bit overwhelming. I just want to be a good mom and be able to provide the best life I can for my babies.

I guess I am just venting... I know I can always come here for reassurance and advice. Thanks for listening. Have a great New Year!

    Congrats on your nephew!

I am sure it will be hard to be a single Mom, but somehow you will do it and do it great! You are going to be a great Mom. :hug99:

Congratulations on being an aunt! :hug99: Parenthood is well worth it; you'll find the strength. Concentrate on taking care of yourself right now and everything will work itself out!

When I had my first two children I ended up being a single mom. My "husband" was not supportive and was rather abusive during my first pregnancy and post partum experience. With my second child we separated when I was three months pregnant so I had a 1 1/2 year old and a newborn by my self, not to mention was going to school full time and working part time. You will do what you need to do and with help you will be fine. This time around I am lucky and have a wonderful husband, hopefully you will also find someone who will pick up where the childrens father should have and be a wonderful support. When I was alone I never thought it would happen, but guys are out there who will love you and your children as his own. My husband has been with me since my youngest was 2 and he has been great. I hope the same for you. In the meantime you are stronger and more capable than you think. Good luck.

    Congratulations on becoming an aunt!

You will do it just fine! Parenting is one of the great equalizers in life. . . It's not easy for anybody, I think. I personally just try to be realistic with myself and realize there are going to be some trying times, but you know, life just keeps on moving! The rewards are great, and as hard as it is sometimes, it's made me a better person, I know. There's not a parent out there, married or single, who hasn't had a tough day. There's also not a parent out there, married or single, who hasn't had a wonderful day!

And you know, you might just find that it's not as hard for you as you think it's going to be!!! The more selfish a person is, the harder it is for them, I think.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I got to see my nephew on New Year's eve and it really did make me a little more excited for my own. I know it won't be easy, but you all have given me hope! Thank you and I hope you all had a wonderful New Year.
