Tues at 12:25am I ended up getting up to go to the bathroom and right when I got back into bed, my water broke all over the bed, it really was a big gush of water and it kept gushing all the way until I delivered pretty much! We got to the hospital and all settled about 2am and I was dialalted to a 1-2. They decided they were going to start the pitocin at 6am. I slept a little but I was so anxious and nervous it was really hard to relax. My blood pressure was pretty high! They started the pitocin at 6am and by the time the DR arrived at 8am, still not much more had happened. I was having a few contractions but nothing painful and I had not dialated anymore. The DR said the babies were still really high and said that a c-section would be the best and safest way to go even though both babies were head down. DH and I talked it over for awhile and decided to go with the C-section.

Jack Joseph and Ryan Edward were both born at 9:06 am on Nov. 6th, 2007, via c-section. I had a spinal and it wasn't nearly as bad as I had expected, neither was the actual c-section procedure. I was so proud of my DH in the delivery room, he was so wonderful and it was so incredible to see his reaction to the birth of our babies....it was truly an amazing and life changing event!!!! Our babies are so beautiful and were both born with full heads of dark hair. Ryan was having labored breathing so they had to put him on oxygen and cpap. Jack started out wonderfully but then started having the labored breathing as well. Both are now in NICU and are progressing wiith each day. They don't know when they will be able to come home with us, they are also having a hard time keeping thei food down. I've been pumping and tried nursing once, it was not easy but I am determined to make it work.

My recovery from the C-section has not been easy. I had a lot of problems in recovery, I lost a lot of blood and passed some really big blood clots. It was pretty scary. My blood pressure was very low and heart rate really high. I was on all kinds of IV's and they talked about giving me a blood transfusion. Luckily, I didn't have to go through that! The worst part about the whole thing was that they were constantly pushing on my abdomen to get the blood clots out and now I'm in SOOOO much pain from that. Moving and getting around has not been easy and I've been in constant pain but it gets a little better everyday. I think they are keeping me here until Saturday.

Anyway, I'm so happy to have made it to 36 weeks but a little longer would have been better for my babies I think, it makes feel so guilty for wanting to be done with the pregnancy and now they are having these problems. It's been hard to see them all hooked up to tubes, it breaks my heart. But, they are getting stronger everyday so that's a good thing!!!

Here are some pictures of my beautiful babies

Congratulations!! It is hard seeing our little ones hooked up to all those monitors, but know they are getting the very best care. Sounds like you had a scare in the delivery room, I'm glad it all worked out.

congrats, they are beautiful. Sorry they are in the NICU, make sure to visit that forum, I know it helped my friend whose babies were in NICU. Hopefully they come home soon.

The recovery part is EXACTLY what happened to me, you are right that is the most excrutiating pain ever. It wasn't from the c/s though it was from the uterus being so stretched. I am sorry you had to go through it too. It does get better and better and bf definitely helped heal the uterus quicker. GL

Oops, I left that part out. Jack weighed in at 5lbs even and Ryan weighed in at 5lbs5oz. They both lost a little bit of weight since birth though.

Thanks to everyone for all the congrats! The boys are doing better everyday! They are off of their oxygen tubes and are going to be weaned off of the feeding tubes. Jack may have to go under the Billirubin lights today as he is a bit jaundice. The Ear Nose & Throat Dr will be checking them tomorrow for some strider breathing issues. Please pray for us!
