I'm a little sad and lonely tonight

My boys are having their first sleepover without me or dh tonight. They are staying at my parent's house. Dh is at work, so I should be enjoying my alone time, right? I still can't help but miss them. I had a little trouble not crying on the way home from dropping them off, and I tear up a bit whenever I think about it too much. Maybe a bit ridiculous, but I can't help it. This is only my 3rd night away from them ( I was at a conference for work for a couple of days when they were a year old and they stayed at home with dh) and it is still hard. I'm hoping it will get easier with time.

You are not ridiculous at all!!! I would be crazy missing my two if they were away from me too.  Will you be getting them in the morning?

We will be picking them up first thing in the morning. Hopefully not too early, but we will see how well I am able to sleep!

:( I don't think that's ridiculous at all! My parents and Inlaws have been trying to get me to let dd and ds sleep at their house for a while now, and I can't do it.

I was like that the first time they stayed at their grandparents. I couldn't sleep and I was soooo excited to pick them up that I was there at 8am. They stay there every friday night now and I have to say I am very disapointed if they have to cancel that now. I totally need that time to just be able to come home from work and not have another "job" to do. You'll get used to it :D

I wish mine would of took them overnight for me at that age! It's not ridiculous at all it's natural. I'm still waiting for the day mine will sleep overnight at my parents but they probably won't now until they are a bit older and I can't wait.
