    Hi there!

So, after some scary complications last week...we are set for induction next Thursday, December 11th. Last Wednesday I woke up with VERY swollen ankles and hands. Just to be safe I called my doc and they told me to come right in. I had 1+ protein and had gained 4 lbs in two days! My BP was abnormally high at 176/98. Wow! They sent me offer to the hospital right away. Babies were monitored for the whole day and looked totally unaffected. Once I got to the hospital my BP normalized (of course!) and never went above 130/80...in fact it was normally around 118/75. My blood panel came back completely normal as well, with no signs of Pre-e. Thankfully! I went from thinking they would induce me that day to getting to go home!

My BP was good yesterday as well and only trace protein. Swelling has gone down some after resting all weekend, as well. I have NST tomorrow as well as BP check. Yesterday with the help of my doc we decided that next week would be good for inducing if I don't naturally go into full on labor by then. On Saturday I will be 36 weeks. I'm dilated to a loose 2 and 75% effaced. Baby A's head is so low they couldn't even get it with the ultrasound yesterday. Baby A is at 5lbs 5oz and Baby B is at 5lbs 8oz, so good weights!

I'm so exhausted with this pregnancy, having had hyperemesis throughout, bed rest on and off, and of course the horrible aches and pains of a 'normal' twin pregnancy! Barely able to walk due to the pain in the pelvic regions, but next week it will ALL be worth it when I hold my two babies for the first time! Last night I had trouble sleeping because I was remembering my labor with my son...I don't think I will ever forget it. Honestly, I never expected labor to be THAT painful...and now I've got two, so it's scary! My doc says, "every labor is totally different, try not to compare them." But, don't we compare them naturally when we have fear of the 'unknown'!? Anyone else close to delivering and getting slightly scared like me!?

Oh! Forgot to add....anyone know about being induced and starting Pitocin and breaking the waters!? With my son my water broke first before I was even dilated so I have no experience with them breaking my waters! Does it hurt? Anyone know anything about it, have good/bad feelings about it!? Thanks!

I don't have any experience with being induced, I just wanted to say good luck next week. I can't wait to hear how it all went, and see pictures.

Congratulations on getting a date! It sounds like your body will be ready for induction so, hopefully, the whole thing will go quickly and smoothly for you. :) Just remember, while you do have to push out two babies you only have to labor once and that's the longest part. Try not to get too scared because the tension will just make the labor more uncomfortable. Relax! I know a difficult 1st labor can really make a mark on your psyche but, like your doctor said, every labor is different and 2nd labors are usually much quicker. You're in the home stretch now!

I was not induced in any of my three singleton pregnancies, but I did have my waters artificially ruptured in all three of them. It doesn't hurt at all; just feels like a pelvic exam. And then feels really weird as the water rushes out, but you probably felt that the same way when your water broke on its own.

    Good Luck!

I was induced with both of my girls (uterus of steel here ;) ) I had an epidural so I didn't really feel any pain. My water had to be broken both times as well. Just felt like I peed a whole lot, all over myself... My butt got really warm

I wasnt induced but was only 3 cm when I got to the hospital and not in real serious labor, so they broke my water and I didnt feel it-it was just gross b/c they left me sitting there in triage like that till they got me a room.
That was about 5pm and I had my dd at 2:30 the next morning vaginally.
