if you use crib tents...

My boys are 25 months and we use crib tents on their cribs. They are great sleepers, and I just haven't had the heart to throw everything off by transitioning to beds (they are climbers, hence the tents).
So we just tried to go out of town last weekend, and the boys crawl out of packnplays no problem. I spent hours each night plopping them back into bed, and they wouldn't nap at all- I mean, why sleep when there is a dangerous, only semi-childproof hotel room surrounding you, right?
So, how do I get anywhere this summer without them being able to stay and sleep in a packnplay?
    Help!

They have tents for pack-n-plays. Here is a link to one. You could always buy 2 of them and travel with them.

I just bought the "Pea Pod Plus," of Ebay. They are soft tents (travel beds) that fold up quickly and easily. My girls have done great with these.

My bro is giving us his pair of peapods. They used them when staying here before and the kids loved them (took EXTRA naps and climbed in willingly!) I'm hoping it goes so well for us!

I didn't know about the pack-n-play tents.....we were only gone one night during that time and one of the boys got out of their pack-n-play. It was a long night.

This is probably not the answer you are looking for but basically we wear them out. During naptime we always drive them around (this works well because our families live far apart, we time it so we drive while they nap). And we usually let them go to bed a little later so that they are extra tired. It is frustrating, but works for us. I might look into getting the pack and play tents though.

I have a question for those who use the pea pod...do your twins share one or do you have two??
We just traveled w/ 19 mos old twins and one of them tried to climb out a couple of different times. Luckily I saw him and raised my voice to get back in. This time it worked and scared him enough to stay in. I doubt that will work next time as he has already climbed out of his regular crib once. I'm hoping that he doesn't make it a habit now that we are home. He's 33.5 inches tall and looks like he could just leap right out.
Good luck w/ your situation. I had not heard of the pnp tents either. I'm guessing that these don't fit regular cribs, huh.
    good information, good post!

I have 2 tents. No way would my girls sleep together! I also use a diaper pin to secure the zipper, otherwise, I would have a wonderer, and that's to dangerous to chance.

I also didn't know there are tents for the p & play. We almost never used ours because the girls wouldn't sleep in them and we didn't travel much when they were younger. Anyway, some hotels have cribs available, and then you could take the tents along. Or they could suggest a place nearby that handles baby equipment rentals. That's what our plan was for our upcoming beach vacation, but just recently we converted to big girl beds so now it's not an issue.

    Good luck!
