What do you do when you go into town? So far, I just take powdered with me. But they do a lot better on the concentrate, so I'm wondering if there's an easy way to do it?

I have the bottles prepared, and put a few in my diaper bag next to some ice packs. My babies will drink them cold, but if I can, I will heat them (usually I get a cup of hot water from a coffee shop and stick the bottle in the cup for a minute, then do the next bottle).

You can get smaller cans of the concentrate to carry in your diaper bag. More $$$, but occasionally worth the convenience. I still occasionally use those (even tho we've been on powder since about 3-4 months). Powder doesn't mix well for me with just shaking (I prefer to wisk it).

We are currently on powder, but even when we were on concentrate I made batches of formula, kept it in one of those tupperware things with the spout on the top and poured it into the bottles. When we went somewhere we just popped a couple bottles in the bag. Since we kept the bottles in the fridge there really was no reason to even use ice packs. By the time they warmed up enough for them they were ready to eat.

We usually bring the RTF travel size cans with us if we'll be out for a while. Otherwise I put a small ice-pack in the bottle compartment of my diaper bag and put 2 ready made bottles in.

What are these? Are they like the tiny bottles of premade formula they gave us in the hospital? Where do you find them?
