    They ate approx. 6 oz. each at 7:30am 10:30am 1:30am and 4:30 a.m.

They only ate 2 oz. of the 6:00 bottle because it was so close to the 4:30 bottle

so, how do you get enough food in them if they are supposed to go to bed earlier to sleep longer???

    thanks,
    amy

I give them smaller portions throughout the day (I always did due to spit up / reflux).

    Wake up 7.00 am
    Solid breakfast at 8.00 am
4 oz Bottle at 10.00/10.30 am (after nap)
Lunch at 12.15 pm + small bottle at 1.00 pm
4 oz Bottle at 2.45/3.00 pm (after nap)
    Dinner at 5.15 pm
6 oz Bottle at 6.00 pm
    Bed at 6.30 pm
6 oz Bottle at 5.30/6.00 am

I meant to add that they are 3 months old and 6 ounces is all that they can handle at a time. Actually, they usually do not finish the 6 ounce bottle. My DS gets distracted and wants to play after the first burp and my DD is only 11 pounds 3 ounces and cannot fit more per feeding.

Hi Amy - mine are the same age, and here's what we do....

    730 (DD 6oz and DS 7oz)*
    1115/1130 (same)
    315/330 (same)
    6/630 (same)

Mine still get a small bottle around 4/5 am, but if they need it earlier that's fine too. I only offer 3oz vs a full bottle, because I am trying to wean them off that bottle. Sometimes they don't finish their 730 bottle, so I know that they are doing OK. Mine started going (on their own) longer than eating everything 3 hours about 3 weeks ago. It has not affected their nightime sleep negatively, in fact, DS dropped the 1am bottle he had been taking.

    Good Luck!

We try our best to do 8 oz every 3.54 hours. Usally it looks like this...

    6-6:30 a.m. Bottle
    10:00 a.m. Bottle
    2:00 p.m. Bottle
    6:00 p.m. Bottle

Some days, it's more like 3 hrs, but this is usually how it goes.

We've added solids in at 9 a.m. and late afternoon, but this is fairly new.

What about if you gave a partial bottle at 4:30 and then another partial at 6:30? We did this and it worked well. I always made sure they had a good amount at the last feeding to hold them over.

My babies are 6 months old. We do something like this:

    7:00 - 7-oz. bottle
10:30ish (after nap) - cereal and fruit and a couple of oz. of water
    12:00ish - 7-oz. bottle
    3:00ish - 7 oz. bottle
5:00 - cereal and vegetable or fruit (or just vegetable/fruit) and a couple of oz. of water
6:00ish - 7 oz. bottle (If they don't finish it, that's fine. If for some reason they don't drink much at all I do a dream feed before I go to bed, just to make sure).

My boys are about 21 lbs each.

When my babies were three months, like yours, I was still doing at least one feed at night and six bottles during the day (no solids yet). They were taking about 6 oz.

I always did a dream feed at about 10/11 pm. When we dropped it, there was no problems sleeping through the night.
