Sooo cute! My boys have never had rolls - they've always been lean, though I had a ton as a baby and my mom EBF me, too.

Adorable! I have babies in two varieties. One is the skinny minny version, and the other looks like pooh bear... much like your cuties. All have been BF.

That's interesting because I was thinking the same thing. The BF babies I know tend to be one or the other.

Now we're all taking bets on which this baby will be. Sage, Adam and Sydney were all the pooh bear variety. Trey and Sabrina, the skinny minny kind. In his last ultrasound, he looked to have great kissin' cheeks, so maybe another pooh???

Super cute! I was just joking with my sister the other day that I must make skim milk, all of my kiddos have been way skinny and never even made it onto the growth chart for their ages. Her baby is only 2mths old and already weighs over 12lbs, I told her she must make cream. I often wonder how some people make such rich breastmilk????

They don't... the PP who had some skinny babies and others were chubsters is a terrific example. Her milk didn't change from child to child -- it has everything to do with the individual genetics of the baby.

It bothers me when I read things like this because this and other similar misconceptions lead to some women thinking that they should "fatten up" their babies with formula because their milk doesn't seem to be "enough" to make their babies chubby. I don't know how many times it was implied to me that my boys (5th %) must be underfed or preemies. They were neither. If I'd been a less confident mom, I might have started to believe it.

I think I was that less confident mom --I breastfed both babies (no formula for almost 6 months). At the 4 month check up the pedi wanted me to start giving DD a bottle or 2 of formula a day because her brother was almost 4 pounds larger and although DD was growing on her own curve she wasnt growing like he was. I held off but as the 6 month mark approached and she stayed skinny mini (and the doc talked to me about it again) I gave in to those 2 bottles of formula for her.
Now looking back at her growth chart the only time she was actually "above" her own curve was teh months she recieved formula. I think she ws just destined to be thin and If I could do it again I wouldnt have given in at all. Your point was perfect. Different babies do differetn things, regardless of the milk because with me feeding both at the same time they were both recieving the same stuff.
